He was talking about the Oxford and Cambridge boat race. I actually visited an area near to Cambridge this weekend. I went to a place called Ely (pronounced EEL-EE). It feels like a small town north of Cambridge in the East of England, but it actually officially a city. One of the most famous things in Ely is the cathedral , which is a kind of big grand church. Any place that has a cathedral in the UK is generally a city - which is why Ely is called a city, even though it only has a population of around 15,000 people. Cities are usually much bigger.
Ely's old cathedral The cathedral was built by King William I. He started it in the year 1053 and it was finished in 1351. So it is a very old building. Ely is a very historical place. Most of the buildings still look very old and it is quite a quaint English place. Quaint is a word we often use to describe historical British towns and cities. It means attractive in an unusual and old-fashioned way. The Oxford/Cambridge boat race that Finn mentioned actually takes place on the River Ouse which is near to Ely. Cambridge is in fact only about 30 minutes by car from Ely. I guess not so many tourists visit Ely because it is just near Cambridge and lots of people go there - but it is a very pleasant place to go to. I have a friend who lives there which is why I visited the city. Are there any historical places near where you live in China? Can you tell me about them? Why are they famous? 　　The fifth row is Jiaying Gate. Named after the line from The Annals of Han-Books of Rites and Joys: "This row is the place where local magistrates and monks welcomed ritual officials dispatched from the capital. After the Jiaying Gate the sixth row comes into view-Tower of Imperial Study.
