This is another one I've done a number of times, and is pretty well liked by friends. It's one of David Gray's most well known songs. It's title is "This year's love".

See what you think of my performance of it:

Now for the regular Youtube stats update, and then something extra :)

My subscribers are closing in on the magic 500 and are now at 475.

Channel views are rolling forward and are now 10,866.

The overall video viewings now stand at 137,810. A few weeks might see that figure break the magic 150k point :)

Now for that something special.

Whilst I've been on youtube, I've always shared my videos with my friends list. On rare occasions I've shared someone elses video, If I thought there was something really special about it. I'm going to give you the link to someone's youtube channel.

It's a 12 year old girl singing. Her mother runs the channel for her. Go and have a listen, and remember that this girl is only 12. An astonishing voice, and masses of potential. I think we are looking at a future star here. She doesn't have many subscribers at the moment, but I think she's going to end up with thousands of them.

This is the link to her Youtube channel. Go over and take a look:

Amazing singer

Next up is another one of my original songs.

Morning will come

I've bypassed 2 videos, because I thought that they weren't relevant. As this is posted in March and the first one was a Christmas song, I don't think it's the right time of year. The other one was me thanking all the people that commented on my videos.

So we arrive at the fifty first video. The first time I heard this, was by George Michael. A while later I found out that Bonnie Raitt was the first to have a hit with it. I ended up buying both. George Michael sung it quite high, whilst Bonnie Raitt did the song pretty low for a female vocal. I wondered what it would sound like if I did it with a low male vocal. I thought it might sound a bit more intimate.

This is the outcome:

Here is the latest on my Youtube progress.

I've now got 456 Subscribers. That's 4 more than last time.

A few more has been added to my Channel Views, and they now stand at 10,774.

The total video views has increased again, but not by as much as has been normal lately. They are 130,781. Still impressive though.

Looking forward to the next one, I've done another David Gray song. Probably one of his most well known.

Now a Billy Joel number.

I have had a go at a number of Billy Joel songs, and this one is one of the best. It just feels good to sing. The song is "Honesty".

Also, I throw in some more random and useless information about one of my rare vinyl discs :)

Great words and great music. Take a look at my version.

The movement of my total video viewings were impressing me in their consistency. So I took a closer look at hows those views were being divided. Some videos got more viewings that others, but what I found surprising is that all videos were getting regular viewings. So the rise in numbers is across the board.

These are the current figures.

There are 452 Channel Subscriptions.

The channel views have increased to 10,768. It's going to be a while before this pops 11k. Unless there's a sudden flurry of activity.

Total video views are now 130,056.

The next song is one that I originally heard the cover version first. Then went out and bought the original. Now I've done my own cover of it :)

Another one from Coldplay

This one has to be one of the finest songs that Coldplay ever produced. It was on their second album entitled "A rush of blood to the head", and it's called "Warning sign". I didn't have any backing music for this song, so I had to once again pick up my guitar and try to get by with some basic chords :)

I thought I'd also throw in an extra fact about Europe, and some of it's crazy regulations.

Go take a look at my version of Warning sign (Apologies for the amatuer guitar)

Coming up next is another song that I adore singing. It's from the wonderful Billy Joel.

Here's the latest on the Youtube progress.

There's been a few more subscribers. I now have 451.

Channel viewings are climbing slowly, and are now 10,762.

I'm still impressed with the overall video views and the rate at which they are increasing. They now stand at 129,349.

Things are going well.

Video 46. Eternity

Another song from my request list. It's Eternity by Robbie Williams.

I said before about how my list of requests was growing too fast. So I decided to stop taking any more. This hasn't stopped them coming in though. I'm still getting over 5 requests for every video I put up. I have to resign myself to the fact that I will never get through it. A friend of mine once said to me that more demand than you can cope with is a bit of a problem, but it's a good problem to have. So I'll stick with my nice problem :)

This video has been viewed nearly two and a half thousand times, up until this post.

This is my version of it.

I'm still catching up to my most recent videos, and I'm getting ever closer. It looks like I will probably achieve that within a month :)

My statistics on Youtube are still climbinhg healthily. This is the current state of play.

Subscribers = 448

Channel Views = 10,752

Video Views = 128,599

It wasonly a short while ago when I started adding this information to my posts, so eventually, it's going to be interesting to check back over the posts and see the changing numbers. I'll find it interesting anyway :)

Next up it's a bit of Coldplay and a guitar :)

Sometime last year, I got a request from a Youtube friend, to have a go at "America" by "Neil Diamond". I finally got around to doing it :)

Needless to say, he was very pleased.

Not much of an introduction to this one. I'll keep it short.

Here is my rendition:

A little while ago, I offered out my instrumentals for people, if they wanted to cover my own songs, or use my music in their Youtube videos. There are already 4 videos with my music in, and more people stated their intentions to use my original stuff. One Youtuber used my instrumental music in 3 of her videos, and a South African couple did an acoustic cover of one of my romantic songs. Not bad at all :)

Back to the stats.

My subscribers went up one. Then down one. Then back up one again. Which gives me 438.

My channel viewings are now up to 10,702.

I now have 125,856 total video views. They are still going along at an impressive rate

Hmmm. What's next.

Oh yes. This was one that was asked for a while ago as well. It's a Robbie Williams song :)

It's Mad world.

This is the first video that I used my guitar in. I've got a long way to go to become a competent player, but I'm practicing. Rhythm guitar is about the best I can achieve at the moment. So the song I chose, uses simple open chords. This song was originally recorded by a band called "Tears for fears". I think it was their first release. I bought it in 1982. Gary Jules had a hit with an alternative version of this song much later. It's called "Mad world".

This video has been watched 2,801 times, up until this post.

This is the video in question :)

There's been some good activity in my youtube stats, since the parody video I uploaded to my other channel. These are the latest numbers.

The current number of Subscribers is 438. Not too long to the 500 mark now. By my reckoning, I should pass that figure in April.

My channel views are moving steadily and now stand at 10,698.

Finally, the overall video views are 124,781.

The next song is another one of those Neil Diamond requests.

Funeral for a Hater / Hate lies bleeding

Before I continue with the singing vids, I'm going to tell you about something that happened to me on Youtube, and a video I put together about those events.

I must be getting somewhere on Youtube, because I had my first "Hater". The usual things happened, that I saw on other Youtube channels. Lots of insulting behaviour. The hater was anonymous. Nothing unusual there. It's how I handled it that was different. A lot of video makers on Youtube, block Haters after their first comment, but I decided to get into a conversation with them. What happened in the end was pretty ironic. I will not spoil the surprise though.

When the episode was over, I decided to put together a video about the experience, in the style of a silent movie parody, using the music of Elton John. This video was uploaded to my second channel on youtube. That channel is "Jeffhasspoken". I set this channel up to keep my other videos separate from my music vids.

The comments went ballisitc on this video and it ended up being the 2nd most discussed comedy video in the UK for the day, and is still getting a good flow of comments. A good number of people found it very, very funny. I didn't realise they would, but I'm very happy they do :)

Check the video out, and see what happened.

Next, it's back to the music vids, and catch up time.

An Original from me - All of the time

This is the third out of 3 on the trot. This one it titled "All of the time". It is a slow paced song.

So far, all of my Original songs on Youtube have done really well. I've had loads of positive comments.

Take a look at "All of the time".

A number of Youtubers mentioned to me that they would like to cover one of my songs, and that gave me an Idea. I thought it would be a good idea to encourage people to do that. It would have the effect of spreading my music to a wider audience.

The problem is that not everybody is a musician, and cannot make the music, though they may be able to sing.

So I made instrumental versions of my songs on Youtube, and put them up for download on a web page. Then I put the link to that page in my descriptions for my videos.

This is the link:

Jeffstunes Download page

So now people can now cover my songs if they wish, without having to compose the music. Unless they want to of course.

The one thing I do ask though is that I am credited in some way. A link to my Youtube channel would be ideal.

Now to the Youtube Stats..

Just before that. I have an observation about the figures. There seems to be an inconsistency in the way the numbers move. Sometimes they go fast, and at other times they go slow. The total video views are pretty consistent, but the Subscriptions seem to be erratic. Oh well. Just an observation.

My subscribers are now at 413.

My Channel views are 10,566.

The overall video viewings are 118,438.

Now for some more cover versions. I pluck up the courage to get my guitar out!!

This is the 2nd Original of mine, in a row, out of three. This one is called "Escape". This has been one of the favourites amongst some of my friends. This was also written a few years back in my crazy songwriting phase.

It's all about being tired of chasing a relationship.

Here is the song:

Well, the Youtube stats have jumped, and I've passed another milestone.

I've made it past 400 subscribers to 402. I wonder how long it will take to get to 500.

The channel views are also up sharply to 10,301.

My total video viewings are now at 115,368. At this rate, I might make 200k in less that 3 months.

Next. The last of my three Originals in a row.
