I am currently working on writing a new song, so the next few posts will not contain any new videos. I thought it would be a good idea to mention some of my comments and messages, because I get so many of them now.

First of all, my "Fun with faces" video. I've now got 8 response videos to it, and more are promised. This is great fun. If you've joined Youtube, and want to have a go at it too then please do. Please post it as a response to my video. The link to it is below:

Fun with faces

The honours I got for this video were the best so far. At one point I had 20 different ones. The one that shocks me the most is that my video is in the top 100 Most responded comedy videos in the UK, of all time!!!!

Amazing!!

A few days back, I had a comment on one of my videos, telling me that I resemble "Miroslav skoro". I had never heard of him, so I did a quick search for videos. It's really difficult when you try to compare yourself to someone else. I just can't see it. The only thing that I did notice is that our hairstyle was reasonably similar in some of his videos.

Well, how's the lay of the land on the Youtube stats situation.

I've now got 616 subscribers and my channel views are now 13,110. I've noticed an increase in the speed of those in the past week. The overall video views are now at 191,821. It should pass the 200k in less than 2 weeks, the way things are going.

On June 2nd, I will have been a Youtube member for 1 year. I'm hoping to have my new song recorded and ready by then. It's going to be interesting to see what the second year will bring.

Fun with faces - an update

The fun with faces video I put up yesterday has done really well. As I explained in my last post, I saw a Website used on television and wanted to have a go at it myself, and then put together a video about it. In that video I urged other Youtubers to try it with their own pictures and post their video as a response to my video.

I've had six responses so far, and each of them are hilarious. Here are the 6 users that have responded to my video so far.

gersing

UpDownMostly

beachfrontal

grandplans

Midnightsongstress7

yeuxlumineuxNtx

You can take a look at their responses by visiting my vid, and clicking on the video responses below it.

Fun with faces

I also discovered that in the last 24 hours, they have added some more morphing options to the list since I did mine.

If I get several more responses to my video, I might do another update post. I'm having a lot of fun with this, plus it helps get a little more exposure for my music :)

I was watching a T.V. program hosted by Graham Norton last night. and he visited a website that altered faces into different ages and races. Such as an Afro-Caribean and a Manga cartoon. All you have to do is upload a picture of you, and you are ready to transform. I thought I'd give it a try, and upload the results to my Youtube channel.

I made the video a challenge to other Youtubers. Requesting that they do exactly the same as me with their own pictures. Then post their video as a response to mine. That way, we could have a collection of funny faces all in one place.

This video was a slideshow, so I dug out a song I wrote a few years back, to use as the backing. The song is called "I understand". That way I could show another of my unheard songs, whilst having fun at the same time.

Go take a look at my video to see what transformations were made to my photo:

As per normal. Here's some youtube stats.

My subs have breezed past the 600 barrier and are now 605.

My channel viewings are 12,798.

Total video views are 186,136. So close to 200k now. It's looking like it might pass that figure in the next few weeks.

Another year

Well the response to my last cover, "Yellow" by "Coldplay" was really good. It had over 800 viewings in the first 2 days of being uploaded.

That was the most requested song on my list. Now on to the second most requested song. This one is quite a recent song, and is by a top group called Travis. The title of the song is Closer, and it's off of their latest album.

I had a few ideas for the video, but I wanted to save the best ones for my original songs. So I ended up making a video for this, which was humerous. The opening sequence on this video, really gave my video editing software a run fir its money. I'm pleased with it though.

See what you think of my rendition of Closer by Travis. I hope you enjoy the humour in the video. I was laughing whilst making it.

I've put several videos out over the last few weeks, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the growth in my Youtube figures so far. I've got 596 Subscribers now. Only 3 to get to 600.

My channel has now been viewed 12,631 times and the total figure of all the viewings of my videos is now up to 183,585.

That's about it for now.

Now on to the 67th video, which I've just uploaded to Youtube. This is a cover of a Coldplay song from the album "Parachutes". I have been asked by many people to do a cover of this song, so it's about time I got around to doing it.

I used to sing this song quite a lot, and a number of my close friends really like it. I find Coldplay songs enjoyable to sing because of the scope for versatility in the vocals, and the chance to do falsetto, and there's plenty of that in this song.

See what you think:

Well the numbers are still steadily rising on Youtube. Here's the latest.

My subs are now up to 589. Not far away from 600 now.

The Channel views are 12,360, and an overall video view count of 178,166. I should pass the 200,000 within a month, the way things are going.

A few friends suggested that I try out for the Youtube partnership program. Well, i did, and got politely turned down. It seems that I don't have enough original material, or enough regular traffic to my channel yet, to justify inclusion. I will probably try again at a later date :)

My daughter is a teenager

On the third of May 1995, at 1:23am. My daughter was born. And this year she becomes a teenager. It has been a fantastic thirteen years, filled with wonderful memories for me. Over that time I've gone through a lot of pictures and video, and I'm so glad I did. It's all there for me to re-visit, and live the memories again.

So many people have been mesmerised by my daughter. Probably because of her remarkable eyes. Lol. Maybe I think that because I am her father. All parents think their own children are the most beautiful creatures on earth. I most certainly do :)

I'm very pleased that she has a wonderful nature. It's quite a rarity. She is unselfish, and would give her last penny away if she thought it could help someone. The only thing she ever asks me for is my company, and a hug.

When I was a child, I used to write poetry, and it seems my daughter has followed suit. I just found out that one of her poems has been selected from an international competition, for publication in a book. One of only a few from her school. How proud I feel.

I decided to cover a song, and change 2 words in it to suit my message. The song is "The air that I breathe" by the Hollies. I changed the line "Making love to you" to "Making part of you". I sung it, and put together some clips of my daughters first year of life.

Check it out, and watch out for those eyes :)

Here's the latest state of play on the Youtube numbers.

I have 577 subscribers.

The channel views are 12,095.

The overall video views are 174,676.

Time can bring you down.

I decided I should start putting up a string of cover versions. It's an attempt to try and put a dent in my request list. The chances of me getting to the end of the list are about nil. It's well over a hundred songs and climbing. They are coming in faster that I can do them. Lol.

I thought I'd change the way I do things with my covers. Instead of sitting in front of the camera singing, I will make a recording of the songs initially, and then making the videos for them. I'm hoping that this will give me better quality sound, and mixes. I will also have a bit more freedom with the videos I make.

So the first one I chose to do was "Tears in heaven" by Eric Clapton. An emotional song by Eric. Following the death of his son. I can't imagine the sadness that must have been in his heart, and probably still is.

Check out my version of this wonderful song.

The latest on the Youtube Jeffstunes figures.

Subscribers = 569

Channel Views = 11884

Total Video Views = 171739

I've got a load more covers to put up. I haven't chosen the next one yet. I'll be recording a number of them. Then I will select from that bunch :)

Original songs in better quality.

Having used Youtube for about 10 months now. Something I recognised was that audio and video quality were limited. If I uploaded a video with good quality stereo audio, It would get converted by Youtube, to lower quality mono. I managed to part resolve that issue with a free video converter that I found, which enabled me to make my own flash videos and set the audio, and video quality.

Recently, Youtube have started to cater for higher quality video and audio though.

All of this lead me to search for another Youtube type site that would allow higher quality, and I came across a site called Livevideo. I decided that I would only put my original songs on thayt site. It doesn't have anywhere near the amount of traffic that Youtube gets, but I was ok with that. It's a place I can send people to hear my songs in better audio quality.

All these videos are in my past posts, but you can check them out in higher quality audio at the following link:

Jeffstunes Livevideo channel

As per usual. Here's the latest info on my Youtube statistics.

The aggregate viewing figures on my videos is 167,997.

I've had 11,668 visitors to my channel, and I have 563 subscribers.

I shall be uploading another song to youtube soon. So that means I'll be posting soon too :)

Senseless indications.

Here's a really recent video. It was uploaded a little while ago!!

It's an original song that I put together over the last week or so.

So far, with my original material, the videos are comprised of image slideshows. So this one is a break from that pattern. This is my first Original song video that contains moving images. I wanted to theme the video on the meaning of the song, and I think I've done that pretty well.

The title of the song is "Don't wish it away". It's about people who wish their days, or life away. Perhaps because they are sad or maybe waiting for something to happen. You'll notice things vanishing, and also things going in reverse. There is symbolism in all of this.

Check out my new song:

These are the latest numbers on my youtube channel.

I've got 550 subscribers now.

The viewings of my channel are now 11,329, and all of my videos have racked up 162,129 views.

I was thinking about doing a cover version next. There are three song I want to do. They are The excellent song "The air that I breathe" by the Hollies, "Running on faith" by the one and only Eric Clapton or "My father's eyes", also by Eric Clapton.

Sight Or Sound - One of mine

Now to the 63rd video. Finally I've got up to date with my videos.

This is an original song by me, called "Sight Or Sound".

I have been writing poems since before I was 10, and one thing I liked to do was make a puzzle out of them, and hide things within the words.

So it's no surprise really, that those elements ended up in some of my songs. This song is a good example of that. In my video description, I ask if anyone can work out the meaning of the song, and if they can find the links within the words, music and video. I have given a good explanation to those that have requested it. I could tell everyone, but I prefer that some know and understand, and some don't.

I wrote this song last year, and recruited the help of a very good friend, and a very accomplished guitar player. He is "Steve Morgan". He has just got married, so I wish him the best for the future.

So I hope you enjoy the song, and the wonderful skills of Steve.

Here is the song:

Here's an update on the Youtube numbers.

542 Subs.

11,175 channel views.

158,875 overall video views.

So I got there in the end. I've caught up with my video releases. So I can't really say what the next post is about, because I don't know myself yet. I suppose I'll know that, once I've decided what to upload next. It might be an Original song, or one of the masses of cover songs that have been requested of me. Over 100 now I think :)
