BlogText Editor

BlogText allows users to insert images and video into blog entries with an easy to use editor. This editor will allow you to create folders for your files. Linking to these images, videos, and files is easy when you use the BlogText entry editor.

After you insert objects such as images, video's, table, and links, you can view thier properties and edit them in the properties section of the editor.

  • Insert Link: You can create a hyperlink by selecting text that you have typed in the editor and clicking the  button. You will be asked for a link. After you have created the link, you can change its properties by click on the hyperlink you just created. The properties panel will should look like the image below in the properties panel. From the link properties panel, you can remove the link, change the link to a file you already have or want to uplaod. You can change the target of the link so that it opens in a new window or the same window.

  • Insert Image: To insert an image or images into your blog entry, click the  button. This will open the file explorer. From the file explorer you can create folders, upload mutiple files at once. When you are done uploading files, select the image you want to insert and click insert.

If you click on images inside the blogtext editor the properties panel will change to show the properties for the selected image. From the image properties panel you can change the size of the image, link the image to a file, add a border, align the image, and more.
  • Insert Video: To insert a video into a blog entry, is very similar to inserting an image. The difference is properties panel for uploaded video. Depending upon the type of video you are inserting, there will be different options in the properties. Video properties include size of video display, alternate image, auto start, show display, show controls, show status bar and video alignment.

Inserting Video HTML - If you want to insert video from services like google video or youtube.com, you will need to view the source of your entry. Place the cursor where you want to insert the video code. Then click this  button. Clicking the code/design button will allow you to paste the code for the video. After you paste the video source code you can go back to design mode by click the  button again.
  • Spell Check: The blogtext editor comes with a spell check and custom dictionary. You will also be able to use the spell check when using other features of blogtext. To start a spell check click the spell check button  in the tool bar, or hilight a word in the editor, right click on it and choose spell check.
  • Editor Help: There are a lot more options in the editor. To find out more about them, click the help  button and then click the button you want to know more about.

Entry Features:

  • Entry Status: Each entry has a status of Draft or Publish. Draft entries do not show up when visitors view your blog nor can they be searched.

In the creating of our new blog customization feature we have created a Memorial Day Theme. You can change your blog to the new theme by going to the settings screen and changing your blog settings.

Right now blogtext is going through some changes that will allow our users to create custom style sheets for their blog. We are going to keep this as simple as possible to allow all users to take advantage of creating their own style to their blogtext blog.

We will post an update to let users know when they can start customizing how their blog looks.

If you have questions or comments submit them below or use the contact us link from your blog manager.

Blog Entry List - We have changed the blog entry list, in the blog manager, to show the last created blog entry at the top. This was done so that a user could create an entry that has a previous date than other entries, and still have that new entry show up at the top of blog entries list.

Creating Entry Date - Users can now specify the date they want their entry to show. This allows a user to create an entry for a previous date or a future date. This idea came from one of our users.

Photo Album View - The order of the images displayed in a album view of images does not list the images in the order they were uploaded.

This caused a browsing problem; when the first image of an album was clicked, the image view navigation page would not allow user to click next image. This known problem has been fixed.
