Does your child always complain about headaches, light sensitivity or sits very close to the T.V.?
Vision defects in children, are on the rise. Parents need to be more alert as early detection of visual problems greatly increases the chances of successful rehabilitation.
Research suggests that one in five children have undetected eye problems. These children may experience learning difficulties at school, lose confidence and develop more slowly. Also, without early treatment, problems such as "lazy eye" can become permanent. It is therefore very essential that eyesight be tested from a very early age.

Children should be subjected to an eye examination at least by the age of three, or earlier in case of a problem. Vision screening checks are often carried out by doctors, health visitors and other medically trained personnel, but these are not as comprehensive as a full eye examination by a qualified optometrist. It’s a common misconception that children’s eyes cannot accurately be checked until they can read, but in fact, several special tests can be carried out at a very early age. As the child develops and communication skills improve, more detailed tests are also possible. 3-D vision, for example, can be tested with pictures of familiar objects.

Recognizable signs for vision defects:
1. Struggling to recognize colors, shapes
2. Not showing any interest in learning to read or draw;
3. Squinting to see objects clearly;
4. Complain about headaches and blurred vision
5. Sit very close to the television.
6. Itching, jerky eye movements, cross eyes
7. Excessive blinking,
8. Light sensitivity after reading,
9. Double vision,
10. Dizziness, nausea after reading
11. Skipping lines or loses place when reading,
12. Difficulty tracking moving objects.

Vision problems are breakdowns in the flow of information between the eyes, the brain and the body. Hence inefficient vision contributes to learning difficulties, low achievement levels at work, failure in sports and other recreational activities.

How mothers can contribute:

1. Mothers who ate oily fish, such as mackerel and sardines and who breast-fed their babies were more likely to have babies with fully developed vision than born to mothers who did neither. (Both contain the fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), an important building block for nerve cells in the brain).

2. Avoiding smoking during pregnancy as it increases risk of squint due to toxic effects on the central nervous system of the baby.

Vision is an acquired skill infants and children proceed through sequential stages of visual development. Children's eyesight is still developing by the time they enter school and is fully developed only by the age of 8. Detection of a vision defect earlier makes it easier to be treated. Vision problems if left undetected and untreated, may rob children of precious vision.

The Fat Kids are Back
Notes on the Couch Potato Nation.
Snap, crackle and loud to whiny butt wiping rectal pops is the sudden flatulence and sultry sound of American obesity.

It’s a swoosh and velvet itching scratch of cellulite dripping thighs burning like chainsaws on Oregon timber.

It’s a leisurely stroll through the intersection at Main street and Asphalt Avenue, Anywhere, USA, where cursory glances conclude that every other full blooded human being walking past is a lawn size Glad plastic bag of packed, bubbly lard.

It’s watching grossly overweight Wal-Mart moms literally crawl and scrape out of undersized Hyundais when Smokey the Bear would have happily lent his jaws-of-life. It’s the greasy residue of Popeye’s fried chicken on any crack addict infested neighborhood sidewalk.

It’s when pudge-knuckle, blow fish cheeks Tommy is on a rush hour crowded subway with an open, crumpled package of strawberry Pop-Tarts in one hand and his Mother’s glow of patronizing spoon-feed approval in the other glucose-waxed pitcher’s mitt. Now, Tommy and Co. know damn well Tommy should’ve long been on a high fruit diet mixed with hour sessions of boot camp calisthenics.

By no means does the author taunt the overweight, fat or pudgy. This isn’t material for those with no life other than the continuous torture of the less fortunate and meek. And neither does the author gain insane, orgasmic pleasure in this latest fat blasting disvaluation. Instead, the pen is feverishly out of ink on the shorthand side and his No. 2 pencil just broke like Ed Norton fist-blitzed that blonde cat’s face in "Fight Club." Why? Because people are unnecessarily dying from it … in droves. More than a quarter of all Americans are obese, with 300,000 plus dying from the extra bodyweight each year. Some of us are in that foreboding demographic – and then, there are those of us who watch people die in front of our eyes as they indulge in the un-safe excess without consideration of diet, exercise or dear life. This depreciating, foul snort of a topic is a sickening stain of sewage sizzling on my back yard grill and dripping brown ooze like day-old cappucino. Get the drift? Smell the gust? We’re not splitting our ribs on this one – this is serious: America’s weight is out of control and it’s downright deadly.

It may seem trivial, somewhat rude, obnoxious and deviant to even point out, but the fact of the matter lays in the matted fat of blood clotting, cholesterol that nibbles at life’s edges like gnawing teeth on a t-bone special. Likeminded peeps on a fitness tip and looking to gain 20 more years rather than 20 more pounds may seem slightly neurotic and uncontrollably jacked on air pressurizing ego. The author – licking soy milk, granola grains and cabbage knots from the shrubbery of his upper lip – assures you all that this is not the case. This is really about the kids.

The adults we can’t concern ourselves with too much since, for many, it’s probably too late. Most have already eased into the car seat addiction of their ways. They are as toasted as Thomas English muffins with the burnt edges. The most we expect are half-done power walks around gravel tracks and glib, self-gratulating conversation about overpriced fitness trainers. But, few wonder or worry about the kids. An entire generation of knuckleheads now prepped for early onsets of Type II diabetes rather than geared up for college, good jobs, lives of innovation or great promise. What’s more damaging to national integrity and sustained growth than a country full of chronically diseased citizens? And don’t you think you need healthy, fit peeps to fight the War on Terrorism? Our collective clinical state-of-affairs are spilling sober statistics like the melted cheese on a fresh Philly cheese steak. Thanks to the introduction of 40-hour TV weeks, Play Station substitutes over desperately needed doses of routine exercise and tricked up parents who think daily dinner runs to Mickey Ds will compensate for lost quality time.

Meanwhile:

25% to 30% of school-age children in the United States are overweight or obese. More than a quarter of our kids are fat – in many cases dangerously fat. This is not so much an image problem as it is a serious physical and mental health risk. It poses a danger and it puts an entire generation at risk for all sorts of diseases and a continued drop in self-esteem;
40% of children between the ages of 5-8 years old are obese, inactive, have high blood pressure or cholesterol levels;
75% of obese teens will remain obese into adulthood;
Obesity-related diseases cost the U.S. more than $100 billion per year;
More than 1/3 of kids between 12-21 do not get regular physical activity;
63% of kids are no longer physically active by the time they reach high school;
Only 25% of students take daily physical education classes. Over a quarter do not attend any school physical education classes at all.

Then why don’t we get it? Why aren’t we exercising as much as we should? What’s to stop us from running 1-2 miles every other day? What’s to stop us from drinking 8 cups of water a day – is it too easy or too good to be true? Why can’t school administrators – particularly in blighted urban school districts - institute mandatory, routine exercise for 30-45 minutes a day? It requires little to no money to do, yet educators (as educated as they claim to be) fail to make the critical connection between a healthy body and a spitfire, intellectually charged mind. One can’t function without the other. All we have to do is commit.

No doubt that the kids are our future – that’s common sense. Yet, what’s not common sense is if society encourages unhealthy and unfit behavior leading to untimely handicaps, deaths and little future. Being healthy in mind, body and spirit is civilization’s most precious personal and community resource. If you are not healthy, you cannot function. If you can’t function, then a community cannot function.

Cultural mindsets and attitudes have got to change. Lives must be centered around a constant theme of fitness, good nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Get off the couch and get your head from the tube - exercise every day of your lives and do the most important thing you can do for your body beyond the occasional veggie burger and slice of tofu bread. Show your body that it’s not just a funnel landfill - appreciate it by eating the right amount of calcium-rich, iron-rich and fiber-rich foods. Sound like a commercial? Just making sure that all of us can be productive, smarter, healthier, brighter and better. Plus, your roundness is blocking my perfect sunset view.

Choosing the Correct Massage Techniques
Trying to find the best massage technique can be quite daunting a task. There are many different types of massages to choose from. Here's a quick look at just a couple of them.
Choosing the Correct Massage Techniques
Although the issue of choosing the right type of massage technique may not seem like that big of a deal, in reality, it is. Choosing the correct massage technique that is required for that particular client and their particular needs is vitally important. Yes the massage technique should be effective, but there's a chance you can also cause mild to serious injury from using the wrong massage technique.

There are many different types of massage and it may seem like an arduous and frustrating task trying to decide which technique is needed for which situation. The most basic massages are: connective tissue massage, acupressure, craniosacral therapy, reflexology, deep muscle massage, myofascial release, myotherapy, reiki,l shiatsu, sports massage, rofing, Swedish massage, infant massage, Thai massage, and trigger point.

Acupressure is a massage technique that is based on the same ideas as acupuncture, and involves the placing of physical pressure by using a hand or elbow, as well as with the aid of various other specifically designed devices. It is the application of pressure or localized massage to specific points on the body and can even be used to control such symptoms as nausea, pain, and bleeding.

This type of massage technique is derived from traditional Chinese medicine, and is a form of treatment that is primarily used for pain relief and works by involving pressure on specific points in the body which are noted and labeled as acupressure points. This again, is how it relates to that of acupuncture, as with acupuncture as well there is the importance of locating certain points in the body and placing pressure on these points to relieve pain and relax the body.

This type of massage is actually a combination of acupuncture and massage. It primarily uses the thumbs and fingertips in order to apply pressure massage on the proper pressure points. Along with the use of pressure, there is also often the use of cold or light massage on very specific parts of the body, and it is used to bring about relief through greater balance and circulation of the energies in the body. Although there are many different types of massage techniques, acupressure is probably one of the most popular. Even after a single massage, you will notice a huge difference both physically and mentally.

Jesus Healing Sick & Critical Thinking + Creative Writing + Active Reading
I am just AMAZED by what people write on social networking websites. They tell ALL! A little critical thinking + creative writing + active reading, could go a long way here.
Jesus Healing Sick & Critical Thinking + Creative Writing + Active Reading
Where is that image of Jesus healing the sick?

I gotta say, I am just AMAZED by what people write on social networking websites. They tell ALL! I am a pretty open person and sometimes worry that I tell too much, too much of my own spirituality information. But you know what? Not in comparison to many. It is pretty stunning isn't it?

A little critical thinking + creative writing + active reading, could go a long way here.

I saw on My Space where a woman wrote about losing a custody battle and CPS stepping in. I saw another where a wife had left, gone 'wild' as the author put it, and left her with the grandkids and her son as a permanent house guest. There was another one where the man said his wife had 'lost her mind' and he was now raising their child alone.

All of these things are tragic, of course they are! But, what is possessing people to post their trials and tribulations on the internet?

I think maybe one thing is because people have lost sight of the fact that they are venting on a public forum. They somehow consider the internet and their personal blogs to be a place for journal writing and that only soft and gentle readers will find them.

I wrote back to person who's troubles seemed too much for them. I feared for their safety! They seemed suicidal. What does one do with something like that? Here is a person you find over the internet who is so distraught they feel their only way of getting it out is over the internet. They feel alone it seems. How does one NOT write back? Yet how does one take on the trials and tribulations of the whole of the internet that cries out for help? HUGE.. it is just a sad and pitiful tale. Like I said, where is Jesus and that picture of him healing the sick? or gads it seems like there is enough spiritual information out there to fill all the oceans on the planet.

Humm, what can people be thinking?

I'll tell you one thing, it has made me pull back even more. I don't want to be part of that club, ya know? I am finding myself doing more critical thinking + creative writing + active reading, and then meditating on it all. Jesus said the sick and broken hearted will always exist, always be with us. I don't want to be hard hearted toward them, I just want to strive more not to be one of them. You too?

Preventative Medicine And The Use Of Prostate Massage
In addition to it use in bringing pleasure, prostate massage is often used as a form or preventative medicine to relieve the pressure created by a build-up of fluid in the prostate gland.
Although often thought of purely in terms of pleasure, prostate milking, which is also known as prostate massage, is frequently performed either as a form of self-massage or by a doctor for medical reasons.

Part of the male reproductive system, one role of the prostate gland is to produce a clear fluid which makes up about thirty percent of male seminal fluid and, in cases of chronic prostatitis or benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate milking can be used to reduce pressure in the prostate gland by removing excess fluid.

Although it is possible to perform prostate milking externally by stimulating the prostate through the perineum this method is not always successful and it is more usual for prostate milking to be performed internally using a finger, prostate massager or a medical massager.

If you wish to perform prostate milking yourself you should proceed as follows:

1. Before attempting prostate milking pay a visit to the bathroom to ensure that both your bladder and bowel are emptied.

2. Ensure that your fingernails are trimmed short and that your hands and the area around your anus are washed thoroughly.

3. Put a sterile latex glove onto the hand which you wish to use to massage the prostate gland and apply some water-based lubricant to your gloved fingers.

4. Adopt a comfortable position. The position which you adopt is not important as long as it is comfortable and allows you to gain easy access to the prostate gland with your gloved hand. Most people find that lying on their back or side is most comfortable.

5. Gently insert your finger (or fingers) into your anus and move it slowly forward along the wall of the rectum, as if you are heading for your belly button, until you feel the prostate gland. The prostate gland will feel like part of a small ball and is normally about the size of a walnut.

6. Having located the prostate gland, massage it gently along both sides but do not massage the central (top) area which contains several sensitive nerves.

7. After a few minutes of gentle milking the gland will be sufficiently stimulated to contract causing it to release its fluid. At this point you might experience a degree of sexual pleasure and, in some but not all cases, may also experience orgasm.

Although prostate milking can be extremely helpful as a form of preventative medicine and relieve the build-up of seminal fluid in the prostate gland, it is not without its risks. As a result prostate milking should not be performed if you are suffering from an acute case of prostatitis and should never be performed vigorously. If you are at all unsure about whether or not it is safe to perform prostate milking you should consult your doctor.

Alternative Medicine > Alternative Mesothelioma Treatment

Alternative Mesothelioma Treatment
Alternative treatments for mesothelioma are used to supplement the traditional methods of treatment. Even though science does not subscribe to such methods of treatment, the effects of these totally different types of treatment are claimed to be beneficial.
Mesothelioma: The Deadly Cancer
For all practical reasons it is said that there is no cancer as deadly and devastating as 'Mesothelioma'. Once diagnosed, it kills the patient within 12 to 18 months.

Mesothelioma has possibly existed for a very long time, but it is now that the number of those suffering from it are on a steep rise. This trend of persons being diagnosed with mesothelioma could continue for a further 30 to 50 years, even more. Reason for this is that mesothelioma is usually diagnosed 30 to 40 years after initial 'asbestos inhalation' (asbestos inhalation is the prime cause of mesothelioma). Even though banned in the 80s, asbestos was still in use till the 90s. Products that contained asbestos till the 90s are asbestos free today; but this does not mean that we are living in an asbestos free environment. The effects of all the asbestos used till the 90s is still felt today. Any construction built from the early 1900s to the 80s contain toxic levels of asbestos in their flooring, roofing, and insulation; all of which could easily pollute the air with invisible asbestos fibers while renovating without taking all safety precautions.

Conventional Mesothelioma Treatments
Almost every patient diagnosed with mesothelioma in the past decade have had a very limited choice as far as treatment was concerned. These treatments depended on the stage of cancer, the age and overall health of the patient, and included one or more of the following treatments.

-- Surgery
-- Radiation Therapy
-- Chemotherapy
-- Combination Therapy

New Mesothelioma Treatments
Over the years of treating mesothelioma, surgeons have realized that the conventional treatment methods for mesothelioma were not very effective in treating the cancer with a low success rate and survival time.

New Chemotherapy for Mesothelioma
Chemotherapy was one option in the conventional type of treatment. Today several different types of chemotherapy are undergoing trials. Some trials are abandoned due to a lack in cancer improvement and the side-effects, but there are many new chemotherapies that are showing good results with fewer and more manageable side-effects.

Photodynamic Therapy for Mesothelioma
Photodynamic Therapy is another new mesothelioma treatment that is undergoing trial. This therapy is based on the power of light to destroy the cancer cells. A photosensitive drug is injected into the patients body and a laser of specific frequency used to stimulate the photosensitive drug. This laser will detect and kill only the active cancer cells when it reacts with the photosensitive drug.

Immunotherapy for Mesothelioma
Immunotherapy is a recent therapy that makes use of the patients own immune system to create a self defense mechanism against the cancer. The theory here is that the immune system can differentiate between normal healthy cells and cancerous cells, and will naturally destroy the cancer cells. This new therapy is based on a substance known as BRM (biological response modifiers) which is naturally present in the human body. Today BRM can also be created in a laboratory. Trials for this therapy are underway and the current results are good, making it a possible solution for mesothelioma in the near future.

Gene Therapy for Mesothelioma
Gene Therapy / Replacement Gene Therapy is another new therapy undergoing trial. In this therapy abnormal genes that are responsible for the growth and spread of the cancer are replaced by normal healthy genes. In this therapy the cancer is treated at the DNA level. Once healthy genes replace the abnormal genes, it helps stop any further growth and spread of the cancer.

Alternative Mesothelioma Treatments
Traditional methods of containing and curing mesothelioma are not proving to be very effective, and has lead to a host of alternative treatments for mesothelioma.

These are methods that are not subscribed to by physicians / surgeons because most of them do not have a scientific base. Usually patients use alternative mesothelioma treatment methods in combination with traditional methods to improve the chance of recovery and increase survival time.

Alternative methods for mesothelioma cure include the following.

-- Acupuncture
-- Herbs
-- Massage
-- Homoeopathy
-- Visual / Guided Imagery
-- Yoga
-- Meditation
-- Breathing techniques
-- Specialized diet
-- Spiritual Healing

Acupuncture Treatment for Mesothelioma
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese remedy used for curing many ailments. Sterile acupuncture needles are placed on specific energy points on the skin to release positive energy to diseased parts of the body, helping restore a perfect balance in the body. It is a technique that is very helpful in relieving pain associated with mesothelioma.

Herbs Used for Treating Mesothelioma
As with acupuncture, treatment with herbs too has its origins in China. Traditional Chinese doctors have an assortment of herbs that will cure / reduce the intensity of various ailments. These herbs are used in addition to conventional mesothelioma treatment.

Massage for Mesothelioma
Massages are known to increase blood circulation and relieve body stress. Massages are not used for curing mesothelioma, but for stress and pain relief during / after conventional treatments used to cure mesothelioma.

Meditation for Mesothelioma
Meditation techniques are centuries old and practiced worldwide for various spiritual reasons. It is one of the best ways known to relax the mind and body. If done with proper guidance it can destress the mesothelioma patient and help control pain. Meditation is also claimed to strengthen the immune system. The advantages of meditation are many. Meditation can be performed by the patient in the comforting confines of home. At a time when alternative therapies cost a lot monetarily, meditation once learned will not cost anything. Unlike most medication, meditation does not have any negative side-effects.

Don't Stop Conventional Mesothelioma Treatment
Many of those practicing alternative mesothelioma treatments will make you believe that they can cure you of the dreaded cancer without the need for conventional treatment. Most of these claims are not true and could end in disaster, since time is of essence in any mesothelioma treatment.

Even though not proven scientifically (which will never happen), many alternative treatments (most of which are based on spirituality) have proved to be beneficial when combined with conventional treatment. Whenever you decide to opt for an alternative treatment, try to locate and speak to someone who has undergone the specific treatment. Also speak to the physician / surgeon treating you and let them know of your alternative treatment choice.

As of today, mesothelioma is not curable using conventional methods such as surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or combination therapy. Keeping this fact in mind, and also the fact that most alternative treatments for mesothelioma do not have any negative side-effects, it is a good option to combine conventional treatment with an alternative treatment to help fight mesothelioma.

Alternative treatments for mesothelioma could cost a lot. Before opting for a particular type of alternative treatment, find out if insurance will cover this treatment. If it does, good. If not, go in for alternative treatments such as meditation, yoga, or specialized breathing techniques that once learned will help you get better, at the same time not burden you financially.

Alternative Treatment for Peripheral Neuropathy- Agent Orange - Vitamin B12 Supplements UK
Could something as simple as a Vitamin B12 Supplement in the form of Methycobalamin create the miracle many stand in line in hope for? Can many of the effects of Agent Orange be changed by an alternative treatment for peripheral neuropathy? A cure for Autism?
Alternative Treatment for Peripheral Neuropathy- Agent Orange - Vitamin B12 Supplements UK
Could something as simple as a Vitamin B12 Supplement in the form of Methycobalamin create the miracle many stand in line in hope for?

Is there a cure for Autism or the milder variant of Autism disorder, Asperger's Disorder?

Facts of the Vietnam war tells us many were exposed to Agents Orange, Pink, White and Blue might their lives be changed to hopeful? Can many of the effects of Agent Orange be changed by an alternative treatment for peripheral neuropathy? Is there hope available for MS patients?

I don't know.

I only KNOW what my husband Dennis is experiencing and the hopeful news I want to share. Perhaps present precedent communications on this issue as a spark that might lead to a bigger light in your life.

My husband Dennis is afflicted with the effects of Agent Orange from Vietnam. He has Peripheral Neuropathy throughout along with a host of other ailments. His granddaughter has been diagnosed with Autism.

Something that is making news about Autism and Peripheral Neuropathy as well as other ailments, is high doses of injectable methylcobalamin, a form of Vitamin B-12.

I recently made contact with a woman who had been exposed to Agent Orange who suggested high doses of injectable methylcobalamin, because it has worked for her. She says it is nothing but a miracle. She started as our tiny angel of light, that is ready to set a beam that takes away all darkness.

I am a skeptic about quick fix healing. You would not believe how many people have had cures and how many roads we have been on that have been disappointing to say the least. So know that I too was a total skeptic.

I decided to purchase methylcobalamin at my local health food store and just try the tabs. Actually they come in the form of lozenges, usually put under the tongue. The reasoning was that if effects were felt at all from the lozenges, high doses of injectable methylcobalamin might just be the answer.

My husband tried 6 lozenges at once under his tongue. He experienced immediate relief. I am not kidding. His legs that had been shaking became significantly calmer. He took lozenges throughout the week and then decided to see what a day without them might be, to see if it was really true or coincidence. His legs began to shake and that old, well known discomfort returned. The following day it was back to the health food store for more methylcobalamin.

Now, the search is on for a doctor who will write a script and assist in administering high doses of injectable methylcobalamin without breaking our non existing bank.

Once an educator of gang zone kids, the kind you see in the movies, my husband Dennis had to quit his beloved teaching career. It is this countries loss indeed. While serving his country in Vietnam he saw the children there and what war does to the children. He wanted to make a difference in this world and decided it had to begin with the children, thus went into teaching. To give that up was a huge heartache and remains so.

To have this HOPE of something that might make a huge difference to him is remarkable. In my research of all of these things I came across abstracts about the connections between Agent Orange, Peripheral Neuropathy and following generations having Autism. As I mentioned above Autism has afflicted Dennis' granddaughter. Might high doses of injectable methylcobalamin be the answer for her as well? Research is being done.

Wouldn't it be so so amazing? Something as simple as a form of Vitamin B12 could send us and others a miracle?

This could be HUGE.

I am sure pharmaceutical companies would not support this and thusly the FDA would not, just not enough money in it for them. This is pure opinion, yet a confirmed one by many.

Let me say that we are still testing, I do not know for sure of the full benefits.. I am not a doctor and I don't play one on TV. When we do find a doctor who will help and it does prove to be successful, I will indeed write another article. No.. what am I saying? I will write tons of them and I will sing it from the rooftops!

 Top Aromatherapy Recipes For Insomnia
Do you fall asleep easily? If not, you suffer from insomnia or some other sleep disorder, just like 20% of world population does. Learn how you can improve your sleep with some natural aromatherapy tips.
It is well know that Aromatherapy can be beneficial for those who suffer from several mental disorders. The essential oil’s effectiveness comes through their calming and relaxing properties that can soothe stressed mind, unwind tired body and generally lull and overcome insomnia. Before suggesting some tips and aromatherapy recipes, read what exactly insomnia is and how it incommodes health and life.

The term "insomnia" describes the inability to have satisfactory quantity of sleep. It is also called sleeplessness and it is a very common condition that concerns many people. It is believed that over of 20% of world population suffer from insomnia. If you cannot easily fall asleep or you cannot remain asleep or you wake up very early in morning, then you probably are one of them. Health bibliography classes sleeplessness in transient (which lasts no more a week), short-term (which last no more than a month) and long-term or chronic (which lasts more than a month) which is the most dangerous for health and wellness.

The causes of sleeplessness are generally associated with upsetting situations and stress. Moreover, other causes of insomnia are: caffeine, nicotine and alcohol consumption, snoring, asthma and other breathing disorders, sleep schedule changes, bad environmental conditions (too much noise or light), behavioural psychiatric factors such as anxiety and depression. At last, there are several cases that someone cannot fall asleep because of insomnia phobia. That is to describe the fear of not being able to fall asleep!

Sleep loss affects quality of life and wellbeing. Those who have been experiencing sleeplessness symptoms for more than a month are likely to become more nervous, irritable and tired. As a result, they cannot concentrate easily and they have poor memory. What is more, they increase the risk of car or work accidents and finally they may develop psychiatric and physical diseases, like chronic depression and immune disorders.

You can help yourself to overcome insomnia by following some everyday tips. Fist of all, try to stay detached from stressful and overexciting situations. Adopt a regular bedtime routine and make your bedroom as cosy and quiet as you can. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and nicotine consumption, especially close to bedtime. It is believed that diet rich in calcium, magnesium, and B6 vitamin might be helpful. A cup of chamomile tea before going to sleep it is recommended because it has natural sedative effect.

As mentioned before, aromatherapy tips can also be beneficial to treat sleeplessness and provide a restful relaxing deep sleep. The most effective essential oils that are used for insomnia cure are: Lavender, Marjoram, Chamomile, Rose and Sandalwood.

Aromatherapy burners or diffusers can be used in order to create a soothing atmosphere in your bedroom that helps you relax. Aromatherapy candles can scent any room and have positive effect, too. Moreover, you can add 1 or 2 drops of your favourite oil to 1 litre of hot water in a bowl and put your nose over the bowl (approximately 50 cm away for safety reasons) and inhale the steam.

Sprinkled pillows and handkerchief is another way to aim your sleep. Lay over the scented pillows and get the scented whiff and as a result, you will relax, fall asleep more easily and have a deeper sleep. Another relaxing technique that reduces insomnia symptoms is Aromatherapy massage. Essential oils are never used undiluted but in combination with appropriate base oils. Gently rub of body and head can calm nervous system and provide a pleasant experience.

Finally, my favourite relaxing, sedative aromatherapy use is aromatherapy bath. Add 3 drops of lavender oil, 1 drop of chamomile oil and 1 drop of Ylang Ylang oil directly to bathwater and stir them to disperse. Stay in bathwater for 15 minutes in order the natural calming properties of the essential oils to have time to effect and unwind body and mind. After bath, go directly to bed and probably you will fall asleep without any delay and will enjoy a delightful relaxing deep sleep untill morning.

Discover Working with a Massage Chair
Discover Working with a Massage Chair
Many people in the industry of massage work with a massage chair. Those that work with the chair are not usually giving a full body massages, but may be performing a hand massage or foot massage. These techniques are often used in offices or on street-sides, as the massage chair is portable and can be taken anywhere that a massage can be given.

Trigger point therapy is often a practice that accompanies massage therapy. This may be performed in a massage chair in some capacities, especially if trigger point therapy is used on the feet, back of the neck, or hands.

Quick Fact: There is evidence that massage was employed by the Chinese as early as 3000 years ago. Their literature contains treatises upon the subject written some thousands of years ago. An ancient Chinese book entitled, "The Cong-Fou of the Tao-Tse " of which a French translation appeared about a century ago, was the foundation of our modern massage.

Thumb kneading is one of the techniques that people using a massage chair commonly use on their patients or customers. Thumb kneading works the muscles in a direct way, much like trigger point therapy, and enables full working of the muscles and joints because of the pressure generated from the thumbs. Thumb kneading is the most effective technique used to massage feet or hands.

People that use thumb kneading techniques in massage typically alternate thumb circles around the area experiencing the pain. It is common to see people making these circles on the soles of their feet or in the palm of their hand, as these areas often experience a great deal of cramping and pain through general work. Thumb kneading can help release endorphins from the brain, which is a hormone that eases pain and helps boost a person's mood.

Did you know that according to the American Massage Therapy Association massage can reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, increase blood circulation and lymph flow and improve range of motion.

The use of a massage chair can be a way of making it easier on the masseuse to get at the feet or hands of the patient. Many people use both a massage table and a massage chair as a part of the whole massage experience. Having both a chair and table allows better access to various parts of the patient's body.

A massage chair can change the course of a practice or business by improving comfort and customer satisfaction and allowing the business to become portable. With a massage chair, the specific needs of the client or patient can be met more easily with the proper equipment. A massage chair can open up new avenues of business or service in the massage industry, if used properly.
