Hi! Your blog is very informative. Sana you can also answer my question. I have a 10-year visitor's visa so nakakapunta ko sa states. Some of our friends there are encouraging me to try to take a vacation there muna and maybe I could find a school district that could sponsor my employment. (By the way, BSE English ako. Taking up my MA in sped.) Are there schools that would entertain me? Or kailangan talagang dummaan nalang ako sa local agency here in Manila? Nga pala, should I take the Praxis na? I have a couple of Praxis and CBEST/CSET reviewers but Im not sure kung ano dun sa ibat ibang tests and required. Thanks.

Thanks for setting up this website - its really entertaining, especially the blogs and the videos. I'm curious, at the end of the day, do you regret leaving the Philippines for NYC to teach?

Message from "Diana"

Hello there,

Thanks for sharing this.  Napaka-perfect timing.  I am so ready to give up.  I am 42 yrs. old and do not see any more hope in love.  My heart has been broken so many times, pagod na ako.  I know what I can offer and I know that my heart is in the right place.  I just pray about it and I just ask the Lord to give me the strength of spirit to move on with life.

Awesome ! more power to you my pinay sister!  Special Ed K 1 and 2.  We have that mix in our school as well and let me tell you it takes a very special person to teach that class. Especially when most of the special ed kids are not placed appropriately. We even had difficulties with the para that was in that room. Oh my!.  What are you doing this summer?  Are you working summer school?   Do you get many teachers outside of NY?  I have a cousin who just recently came to the US and has been teaching in Fla.  but next year she will be in Cali with a permanent license.  She will also be able to get  all of her children from the PI once she starts over on the west coast. Well, maybe you'll plan a trip out to Staten Island one day.  It is a nice boat ride and it's free!
