While surfing the various discussion groups at Blogcatalog one day,
I chanced upon one invitation which was inviting blogger members to
blog about international political figures. I was quite surprised that
she mentioned "Gloria" the Philippine president among the figures she
wants bloggers to blog about. This made me wonder if truly "Gloria" is
that internationally famous. (I wonder if they really knew who Gloria
really is or whether they have a real grasp of the Philippine
politics?).
Anyway, after coming across a "Photo of the Week" feature on a
Filipino website (bulatlat.com), I remembered the blogcatalog blogger
and her discussion topic. I tried looking for her discussion group
again hoping to be able to share with her the Bulatlat.com link. But
with thousands of discussion pages at the site, I soon tired out after
browsing 50 pages. So, much as I don't want to put any political color
to my blog, I just went on and decided to make this post hoping she'd
stumble on my site one of these days so she can get a glimpse of
"Gloria" from the standpoint of people "not so close to her".
This photo of the week was posted by the site(www.bulatlat.com) in
reaction to "Gloria's" latest State of the Nation Address and her
government's on-going tri-media ad campaign dubbed as "Ramdam ang
Kaunlaran" (Feeling the Progress). The photo shows shanties amidst the
background of tall buildings - a perrenial scene of spreading poverty
throughout the country. The photo itself is a political statement by
the photographer and counters Gloria's misinformation drive designed to
hoodwink her countrymen and the international community into believing
that the country is indeed progressing.

There's this grating commercial on Philippine networks showing select "success" stories
under the current political dispensation. The commercial declare in the end,
"Ramdam ko ang kaunlaran!" which translates, "I feel the progress."
Yeah, right! (Caption provided by Photographer)
While Mrs. Arroyo claims profits from VAT would be used to fight poverty,
the P1.415T 2009 proposed budget shows the government's true priorities.

As I was surfing my e-mail today, I noticed one coming from a very
special friend from another social network. She is a blogger herself
but she never authored her own site. She was in fact contented with
writing bits and pieces of her thoughts and publishes them on that
network. I had a load of fun reading this extraordinarily long e-mail
but boy, I really got a kick out of this. I don't care where she got it
from or who the original author may be but I am publishing the e-mail
to share with you the happiness and the laughter this e-mail has given
me this morning!
He happened to be a student of the greatest teacher ever.

From:
"Raven D.S." (sorry, need to hide her real e-mail add)
An Atheist Professor of Philosophy speaks to his Class on the Problem Science has with GOD, The ALMIGHTY. He asks one of his New Christian Students to stand and . . .
Professor :You are a Christian, aren't you, son ? Student :Yes, sir. Professor :So you Believe in GOD ? Student :Absolutely, sir. Professor :Is GOD Good ? Student :Sure. Professor :Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ? Student :Yes. Professor :My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him. Most of us would attempt to Help Others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD Good then ? Hmm ? ( Student is silent )
Professor :You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good ? Student : Yes. Professor : Is Satan good ? Student :No. Professor :Where does Satan come from ? Student :From . . . GOD . . . Professor :That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World ? Student :Yes. Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make Everything. Correct ? Student :Yes. Professor :So who created evil ? ( Student does not answer ) Professor :Is there Sickness ? Immorality ? Hatred ? Ugliness ? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they ? Student : Yes, sir. Professor :So, who Created them ?
( Student has no answer )
Professor :Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son . . . Have you ever Seen GOD ? Student :No, sir. Professor :Tell us if you have ever Heard your GOD ? Student :No , sir. Professor :Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD ? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter ? Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't. Professor :Yet you still Believe in HIM ? Student :Yes. Professor :According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son ? Student :Nothing. I only have my Faith. Professor :Yes. Faith. And that is the Problem Science has. Student :Professor, is there such a thing as Heat ? Professor :Yes. Student :And is there such a thing as Cold ? Professor :Yes. Student :No sir. There isn't. ( The Lecture Theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events ) Student :Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We cannot Measure Cold. Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it. ( There is Pin - Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre )
Student :What about Darkness, Professor ? Is there such a thing as Darkness ? Professor :Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness ? Student :You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something. You can have Low Light, Normal Light , Bright Light, Flashing Light . . . But if you have No Light Constantly, you have Nothing and it's called Darkness, isn't it ? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is, were you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you ? Professor :So what is the point you are making, Young Man ? Student :Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is Flawed. Professor :Flawed ? Can you explain how ? Student :Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a BadGOD. You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life : just the Absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you Teach your Students that they Evolved from a Monkey ? Professor :If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do. Student :Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir ? ( The Professor shakes his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument is going ) Student :Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and cannot even prove that this Process is an On - Going Endeavor, are you not Teaching your Opinion, sir ? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher ? ( The Class is in Uproar ) Student :Is there anyone in the Class who has ever Seen the Professor's Brain ? ( The Class breaks out into Laughter ) Student :Is there anyone here who has ever Heard the Professor's Brain, Felt it, Touched or Smelt it ? . . . No one appears to have done so. So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then Trust your Lectures, sir ? ( The Room is Silent. The Professor stares at the Student, his face unfathomable ) Professor :I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son. Student :That is it sir . . . the Link between Man & GOD isFAITH. That is all that Keeps Things Moving & Alive.
It turned out later that the student is Albert Einstein
Yup! For the first time in the history of that famed city of the
south, residents there got the thrill of their lives when a band of
known international fame and caliber, the highly popular Earth, Wind
and Fire did a live performance at the sprawling parking lot of SM
Davao City.
The city celebrates its famous annual thanksgiving festival called
"Kadayawan Festival" at about this time of the year. It is a yearly
festival to celebrate and showcase the bountiful harvests and other
blessings that the almighty has bestowed on the residents. Aside from
the regular colorful street dancing competitions, this year's
celebrations will be the most remembered because the undying and truly
adored group that has entertained the world for decades now, the Earth,
Wind and Fire, joined the festivities and performed live in the city.
But hey, I have an even better scoop for you. There were fans who
could not afford the stiff Php2,500 ticket per head for the concert, so
they settled (and at least they were allowed) to watch at the back of
the walled venue. Since the stage was elevated, the ecstatic fans were
still able to get glimpses of the night's highly anticipated concert.
And you know what, the band members took notice of the poor fans at the
back portion of stage who were yelling, and dancing, and singing along
as the group performed on stage. So, they would occasionally turn
towards them all throughout the night's performance, to the
satisfaction and delight of this backstage crowd. My whole family and
some of our neighbors were there with that crowd to try to get a free
view of the concert. They got more than what they expected!
Here now is the biggest scoop of the night!
What must have been a planned picture taking session with the fans
after the concert was botched...but not after a concert staff made a
call for some of the backstage fans to come in for some pics... and
hey, not after my youngest daughter, Carlota, on hearing the call, made
an immediate bee line to where the band members where standing. It was
too late for anyone to stop her 'coz she was already hugging no less
than Philip Bailey, one of the lead singers of Earth, Wind, and Fire.
And guess what? She got her picture taken with the guy! Out of the
thousands of fans who were there that night, Carlota was the only fan
lucky enough to get a picture taken with Philip, also the only photo
session of the group that night at the concert venue. This is one
memory thread that my daughter will be so proud to recall for the rest
of her life. On coming home, she got into the computer and excitedly
sent me these pictures via ym photoshare.

Ahhh!
How fast time flies! Because of my preoccupation to give my family a
good life, I simply did not notice the time go by so quickly. It’s so
shocking to suddenly wake up to the reality that what used to be my
four adorable babies are now four grown up “ghoulies’ (what I fondly
called my kids) who’d leave me anytime to seek their own destinies in
this world. This poem by Wallace Waldo Williams captures the swirling
thoughts rising within the depths of my inner self as I try to grapple
with the thought that I have now grown old and have wasted so much
precious time which otherwise I should have spent enjoying the days of
their growing up years.
Our Lives
When they are a baby, can’t wait for them to grow up From diapers and a bottle, to drinking from a cup First they say some words, and then they start to talk Take the first few steps, and then they start to walk They were just a baby, it seems just like last year Where has time gone to, rolling down a tear
Pictures tell their story, each one a different age You can’t get time back, their memories on every page Every time you turn around, they’re into something new And suddenly you realize, how fast they really grew There was kindergarten, helped overcome their fear Where has time gone to, rolling down a tear
Still get into trouble, they may get out on a limb Every time you see them, you see yourself in them Can’t help but love them, to you they are the best Made you proud, when they got an A on any given test You wanted to slow down, they shift it up a gear Where has time gone to, rolling down a tear
The time in the school play, when they were the star Taught them to ride a bike, now they drive a car Each day they grow older, now you become older too You want your babies back, but there’s nothing you can do Used to want to play, now they’re planning a career Where has time gone to, it’s rolling down a tear

(AMAZING VIDEOS OF GUITAR PLAYERS I PLUCKED FROM YOU TUBE)
I
woke up late this morning after spending the whole night fixing my
blogs, making them more palatable to web surfers, adding widgets and
gadgets and smileys(or is it smilies?). While going down the stairs, I
stopped and sat down on the stairs for a smoke still feeling groggy
from lack of sleep. My son, Patrick saw me and gave me an ash tray to
use. Sensing that I wasn’t yet ready for the world, Patrick tried to
liven me up by showing me some videos he picked up on you tube about
some rock guitarist playing with an orchestra. (My son plays bass
guitar too and music is his passion.) Sure enough, he got my attention,
but much more than that several other videos from some obscure and
previously unknown guitar playing artists really caught my fancy. I
know how hard it is to surf you tube and blunder into amazingly fancy
videos so I decided to post here what got me all fired up for today.
Hope you enjoy them as you did with Moymoy Palaboy Productions which I
also posted here days ago. So lighten up your Monday and watch these
four music videos.

Hardly noticed at first, now spreading like wildfire and loved and
adored by a growing army of fans (including me) is the tandem of two
brothers behind Moymoy Palaboy Productions. They produce musical videos
where the brothers themselves perform by lipsing perfectly through each
musical production. (They must have practiced a lot to make such
perfect productions). They upload their productions on You Tube for
free public viewing and most of their productions have attracted more
than 1M views so far. They have been offered and are now mainstays of a
popular tv show in the Philippines. Working out from their own home,
they made good use of their free time (they must have lots of it) to
bring laughter to the world. These are the kind of stuff that will
lighten up your day. Watch and enjoy this one. Happy viewing!

I love to write. I love to blog.
In fact, I created five blog sites since I started and that was just
barely a month ago. But when I chanced upon this site, Http://myinspirelife.bogspot.com, I got more inspired.
People were telling me about making
money writing blogs. I kept on reading about it in the net. But since
I started blogging, I remained skeptical about the money side of it
until I visited this blog site (Http://myinspirelife.blogspot.com).
One look at the home page and you’d
be surprise at the many sponsored blogs that will greet you. The
author also took quite some time to design the site in a way that
visitors will not only take a peek, but will read on and on. Truly
attractive indeed. The add-in applications are superb and definitely
sure fire attractions to make you visit and revisit the site. And boy,
look at the page ads - an envy for up and starting bloggers dreaming
about making real money from their own sites.
The author must be a young lady. This will definitely make
me prouder to promote this site with my friends and associates.
Go take a look! Log on to Http://myinspirelife.blogspot.com. I guarantee you the visit will be worth your while.

After the successful debut and unprecedented market dominance in on
line advertising (through blogging) of its sister company and
predecessor PPP , comes now Social Spark - The next best thing to
happen to internet advertising.
Social Spark is taking off from where market leading PPP has failed
to make a difference - the development of a bigger, wider, and a far
more responsive community of bloggers determined to develop the clout
and reach of their blog’s readership.
Bloggers are themselves potential end users and consumers of the
products and/or services they blog about; and so are their families and
friends. By making every aspect of membership to the organization so
blogger friendly, Social Spark is well on its way to attracting and
cornering a greater majority of bloggers worldwide - truly, a potential
captive market waiting to be tapped by ‘ would be Social Spark
advertisers’.
Leading electronics manufacturers such as Hewlett Packard or Sony ,
or Canon, or Phillips can very well use Social Spark in generating
interest and measuring consumer pulse for new product launches.
Consumer goods manufacturers and retail chain outlets will benefit well
from a Social Spark initiated on line media campaign to promote price
cut-downs and clearance sales.
The potential benefits to would be Social Spark advertisers are
simply limitless and yet the cost is a mere drop in the bucket compared
to their yearly multi-media advertising budgets.
With its innovative approach to on line advertising, Social Spark is
bringing together the bloggers and advertisers to a mutually beneficial
partnership in the internet.
