3 Reasons Forbes.com Sucks

1. Forbes Attache on the right of every page they have. Plain stupid, who cares Forbes, who cares.

2. Forbes.com forces users that read their articles to view 2 full page ads about Lexus cars or some investment firm. Why? After being forced to view the second full page ad I decided that Forbes.com sure does suck.

3. Forbes.com is the only site I have ever known to put image ads at the bottom of every drop down menu in their main site navigation. This is just stupid, ugly, and greedy.

Don't read Fox News, CNN, CBS, NBC, or MSNBC. Get your news from somewhere else. These sell outs do not talk about what really matters, they just speak in circles.

China Google And A War of Somekind

A house of Representatives sub committee will meet with Microsoft, Yahoo, Google and Cisco Systems to discuss their dealings with the largest growing internet market, China. Talks are aimed to lay out some new legislation for U.S. based companies and how they operate in areas such as China.

Human rights activist and politicians want to talk about a bill that will force U.S. companies to  keep their servers outside of China. The search engines say that poor service will results in having servers so far away. That doesn't make any sense to me, sound like someone who is crying to get their hand on the China market. And sure this would not be the case if there was not so much money on the plate to be made.

What the software giants are doing is filtering out any kind of content that the China government doesn't want them to be able to know. For example, Shi Tao, a Chinese Journalist, has been jailed for 10 years after Yahoo help Chinese police trace emails he had sent out to human rights organizations over seas. The Chinese government didn't like what he was doing and threw him in jail. Microsoft did the same thing when Microsoft shut down a blog by Zhao Jing on their msn service when a request from Beijing.

Free blogs for anyone from China, click here. Blogtext does not negotiate with Chinese government.

Microsoft launched an MSN portal that blocks the use of the words "freedom" and "democracy" in the names of blogs. On Google's China search engine, www. the word "democracy" is also a no-no, as are any mention of Taiwanese or Tibetan independence, the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown or the banned Falungong spiritual movement, regarded as a cult by Beijing.

This would mean that someone at yahoo, google and Microsoft will be talking or communicating first hand with communist leaders to negotiate what they will and will not allow. Working that close with a human right violating country sounds dangerous.

If someone is trying to report human rights violations and that gets them thrown in jail, something is wrong. If China is doing so wrong and abusing so many people, why did we not go to war with them, not just war but U.N. sanctions, do something other than nothing.

The reasons is that war against China would not be that "easy" of a vitory and would cost many lives. China is huge, but I dint think we would have to defeat China. I think there are enough people in China that want a change. There are a lot of bad things about the China government and I hope for the sake of man kind we use our brains to live peacefully before we have no place left to live.

Lets hope google and yahoo and the other money hungry idiots decide not to do business in China.  And lets hope our U.S. government puts some pressure China and make those guys act right towards their own people.

Googles Free Email

As we all know google runs adsense, the revenue maker for google. As I ranted before google has free rein on what and where they can advertise. Take for instance searching google for "free email".

A lot of us have heard about google's gmail. Since its announcement, its sign up has been closed to the world. Sure they have allowed invites and one day advertised on google.com for signups to the google mail sevice.

But what makes no sense is how google can take the top advertisements for the search term "free email" when you can't sign up for gmail. Go to google and search for "free email" and then try to sign up, you can't. But google can take first dibs to make sure everybody that searches for email, finds gmail but cant sign up. And the other free email providers that are paying to be listed on googles results, sure as hell have a sign up form so that they can have a return on the $1.00 or more a click they pay google to deliver traffic to their free email service.

Google Should Be Scared

Over the last several months I have been monitoring google. Google has a very strange way of doing business. For the entire time I have been monitoring Googles search results and search results ads I have never seen google advertise thier blogger service on the right side of their site. They have always taken the more expensive route by displaying their advertisements where only $50,000 advertising budgets get listed, directly above the search results.

The right side of googles search results pages display paid advertisements. To have an ad displayed there you must be a member of adsense. Adsense is also run by google.

Previous to this day when we started advertising on the word "blogger" at google, their was no ad from google to be found.

Today, this day in history google has decided to do what it does for its webmail service. It takes top rank over all the advertisements. To anyone this sounds like no big deal, maybe its not for you. If you are interested at all please read below.

So what we have here is google the search engine, google the manager of the ads displayed on google and blogger a service google bought and now own. As of today when you search for blog, blogs, blogger, free blog, no longer is google advertising at the top of their search results but on the right hand side, were advertisements are supposed to be placed for paying companies to drive business to their own site.

The way adsense works is advertisers place bids on words searched by google. The more you are willing to pay for the traffic, the higher you are ranked in the listing of advertisements. So someone paying thirty cents a click would be placed farther down in the advertisments than a business paying $1.00 a click.

I wanted to find out how much it would cost to bid higher than google to become the first listed advertisment on the search result "free blog". Just for the record untill today you could bid $1.00 and have the highest listed ad for the search "free blog" and the other blog searches. I put a bid for $5 a click and still listed second to googles blog service blogger. I was willing to pay 5 times what the normal was for advertising on google and that was not enough for them.

So now for the search term blog, anyone will come second to google no matter what. Not anyone single person, other than bill gates would pay over $5.00 a click. And depending on what other business google gets into, you will fall second to them as well.

And where advertisers have to pay to be advertised on google's adsense, google gets a free rein on the top rank and abuse their own service, with services that they own or buy out.

What kind of business practise is it when google pisses off the advertisers that are paying googles way.

Browsing around the world wide web I ran across a Latino meet people site. The site calls itself "The Latino People Network".

I went to a part of the site that allows you to browse users for free. And then I noticed none of the peoples pictures from the sign up screen look the least bit latino. You be the judge, the link is here:

IE & Google Spyware Hack

I've been hit again. Spyware, the every changing pain in the ass. This time it is a little more clever.  What has happen is that when i search on google.com the spyware takes the query, shows me what looks like googles website, and in the listings every link goes to www.daosearch.com or lender-search.com.

daosearch.com and lender-search.com, another reason you should go to sunbelt.com or pestpatrol.com or microsoft.com to download legit spyware removal software. most free spyware removes are spyware themselves.

Spam And Their Idiots

If it's not a virus or a fishing scam, it's some jack ass that claims he has the answers to wealth question. Michael J. Filsaime is his name and somehow, like most spammers do, bought a list of email addresses to spam out their "online marketing" agenda.

The email subject reads "$myname, what the heck is all this Quick Pay Pro Stuff about?” I have yet to be spammed at this email address so I thought it might be an idiot friend of mine. It turns out its not.

In Mikes spam email, near the bottom, he went on to tell me that I subscribed to his newsletter through instantbuzz.com. Most spam tries to explain how it got into your inbox.

Instant buzz turns website is another example of these marketing idiots attempt at creating a truly useless site. You can spot these sites by the poor design, the use of bold and italic text where it is not needed. Let’s not forget audio that starts as soon as the page loads. And a page that goes on and on and on. Instantbuzz.com is nearly 10 pages in length.

Trust me when I tell you, any site that says it can make you rich real fast and that it is easy to do, is just looking for your money to make them rich.

And just to jump around to another point, the site mike spammed me with, http://www.mikefilsaime.com/mnews/, is supposed to be a blog. Every entry in the blog sounds like a pitch to sell something.

And to top off this rant, I'd like to include a screenshot of the link I clicked on to unsubscribe to this trash. When the unsubscribe page loads there are two form buttons to click, one reads, "no, this is a mistake", and the other reads "Yes, please unsubscribe me". Under the form button that reads "Yes, please unsubscribe me", is some small red text that says, "(this may take a while)".

Take a while you say? How long does it take to remove an email address from a database? Well I'll ball park that it might take a complete second to process it, if the server running the db is not older than ten years. Just because the visitors to your site are desperate, doesn’t make them all as dumb as you, mike.

Know this, do you know why infomercials about get rich programs air at 230 in the morning? Its because they are marketing to people that are up either getting off work or going to work at a crappy hour not making the average income. Do you think rich people are up at 230 3 in the morning looking for a way to not have to work anymore.

Say what you will, safe list and sites like mikes are complete bullshit. A waste of my time. I don’t know why I keep writing about it.
