Here is the first smartphone run by S60 3rd Edition Feature
Pack 1 by the company, and it refers to middle-class level. Nokia 6290 is
positioned as a device for energetic profeccionals thinking of some other
things besides business. It comes equipped with a 2MP camera with 4x digital
zoom, supports videotelephony in 3G networks. Internal display has a diagonal
of 2.2", QVGA resolution (240x320 pixels) and shows 16М colours, its
integrated MP3-player provides 3D sound.

The models keeps up traditional Nokia’s design, being a fold
phone measuring 94x50x20.8 mm in size and weighting 115 g – you can’t say that
the 6290 is slim or very portable, but overall its shall be attributed to the
latest generation of Nokia-branded solutions, being more or less the same to
Nokia 6288 in terms of dimensions. On the other hand, against the background of
other smartphones running off the S60 it turns out to be quite compact.

On the front panel are a lens of a 2 Mpix camera and a
LED-flash. An external TFT display edged by chrome-plated plastic measures
1.36” diagonally and boasts a resolution of 128x160, being a top-notch
solution, but this is what we are talking about a bit later. For now, we will
notice that you will find three dedicated keys for managing the handset while
it is closed.

Water Gets a Makeover

Testing the Waters

Flavored water's new-found popularity is encouraging, because water is
the single most important nutrient for your body, regulating
temperature and filtering out waste, and it makes up 60% of your
weight. Ready to take the flavored plunge? Here's my three-step plan
for healthfully navigating the sea of options.

1. Avoid sugar and artificial sweeteners

Flavored
waters are typically sweetened with natural sugarcane or fructose
(fruit sugar) rather than high fructose corn syrup, the sweetener found
in soda that's linked to obesity and type 2 diabetes. But some 16-ounce
bottles provide as many as 180 calories, just 20 shy of a same-size
Coca-Cola Classic. That's important because research shows that caloric
beverages aren't filling. When Purdue University scientists fed two
groups the same number of calories from either soda or jelly beans for
28 days, the candy group naturally compensated by eating less
food—while the soda group did not. In the end, the jellybean eaters'
weights stayed the same, but the soda group gained weight. If you don't
burn it off, a bottle-a-day habit can add 19 pounds to your frame over
a year.

And artificial sweeteners aren't the solution. When
researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San
Antonio followed more than 1,000 people for 8 years, they found that on
average, for each diet soft drink consumed per day, the chances of
becoming overweight or obese jumped about 37%. This is probably due to
an interesting phenomenon other studies have found: Even "fake" sugars
increase the preference for sweets.

2. Keep it natural

We
think of water as pure, but even waters that seem wholesome can be
loaded with artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives (I call them
"Twinkie" waters). Look beyond the label and check the ingredient list.
You may see plenty of words more reminiscent of a chemistry lab than a
mountain spring, such as sodium hexametaphosphate (a flavor protector
also used in ceramics), sodium benzoate (a preservative and precursor
to benzene, acknowledged by the FDA as a known cancer-causing
substance), and ETDA (a stabilizer used in laundry detergents). Only
buy brands that have terms you recognize.

3. Beware of health promises

You've
probably seen flavored waters that promise to calm you or boost energy.
They are typically fortified with vitamins, minerals, caffeine, and
herbs like passion flower. But some don't have studies to back their
claims. One supposed metabolism-boosting water, for example, offers no
published studies using the water itself, nor is there evidence that
the key ingredient is effective for weight loss. Also, waters that are
heavily fortified with vitamins and minerals may actually suppress your
immune system if your combined vitamin/mineral intake from food and
these waters boosts you over acceptable limits.

Bottom line:
Don't look to waters to meet nutrient needs or provide benefits above
and beyond hydration. Water itself is pretty great on its own!

Eat smart today!

My 4 Favorite Flavored Waters

Each
of these bottled brands keeps it simple. They're calorie free with just
a hint of natural flavoring to entertain your tastebuds.

1. Ayala flavors include Jasmine Vanilla, Ginger Lemon Peel, and Cloves Cardamom Cinnamon

2. Hint flavors include Pomegranate Tangerine, Raspberry Lime, and Cucumber

3. Metromint flavors include Peppermint, Spearmint, and Chocolatemint

4. Wateroos flavors include Apple, Berry, and Grape

Jazz Up Plain Water

For a cheaper—and just as tasty—alternative, try these do-it-yourself tips:

Tangy

Squeeze in wedges of lemon, lime, tangerine, or pink grapefruit, or mix water with unsweetened infused herbal-flavored tea.

Sweet

Chill
with cubes made from 100% juice, bits of real fruit, citrus zest, and
spices, or add a splash of 100% juice such as white grape or apple.

Spicy

Stir in fresh mint, lemongrass, or grated ginger.

4 Steps To Understanding Your Weight Loss Triggers

Triggers are certain foods, situations and feelings that prompt us to
overeat and gain weight or prevent current or future weight loss.
Different people have different triggers when on a diet. For some
people boredom is a trigger, for others it's stress; for some people
it's a party, for others it's being alone. People bottom line need much
better food nutrition. No matter what your individual triggers are they
bar your way to successful weight loss. If you have tried
unsuccessfully to lose weight before, one of the things that have
prevented your success was that you never learned to identify or
control the trigger foods, situations and feelings that cause
unconscious overeating. You never turned "I'm out of control" into "No,
I'm in control".

See if you can relate to this pattern: It starts out slowly. Something
prompts you to eat some of the foods you cut back on while you were
dieting. Perhaps you are at a movie, or feelings stressed, or simply
smell some freshly backed cookies. You feel a little deprived because
of your dieting and so you decide to just treat yourself with certain
foods you used to eat when you felt stressed. Believing you are in
total control of those foods now, you test the waters and decide to
have "just a little bit" of them. However, "just a little bit" pretty
soon grows to be, "a little bit more" and then rapidly progresses to "a
lot more". Before you know it, you are right back where you are started
in terms of food control. Then your weight starts inching upwards.

The trip-up point is this patter is where you cannot recognize that
certain foods you "gave up" while dieting are not foods you can just
start eating again once you have lost weight. The realities are that
certain foods, especially eaten at certain places or while experiencing
specific feelings, have the power to control you.

How to Turn "I'm out of control" into "No, I'm in control.

Like any behavioral change, learning how to control triggers is a
process. Awareness of the influence of triggers and acknowledgement
that they are deterring you from your weight loss goals is the starting
point for this process. After that, it can be broken down into four
steps to help to understand how to lose weight and keep it off for good.

1) Identify
Identifying the foods, situations and feelings that trigger unconscious
overeating is your first step. The best way to do this is by using a
journal. You can divide it up into three sections for each of your
trigger foods, situations and feelings, or just note everything in one
place.

2) Decide
Once you have identified a number of trigger foods, feelings and
situations, your next step is to decide that you are going to learn to
control them. Believe in your ability to do this.

3) Stop
The best way to control your triggers and increate food nutrition,
therefore, is to consistently stop responding to them. Not just for a
day, a week or a month. Not just while you are trying to lose weight,
but until you can control the conditioned eating habit, and in some
cases this may mean permanently. True control means that you, not the
trigger decides where, when, and what you will eat. On the other hand,
if you have a problem say for instance eating popcorn at the movies,
not responding to the trigger does not mean you can never eat popcorn
again.

4) Practice
Controlling weight loss triggers takes practice. Now that you have an
understanding of triggers, put into effect what you have learned. Use
the following as examples.

* Trigger Situations
- Write a statement describing the trigger situation. Phrase it in the past tense: "I used to eat while watching TV".

* Trigger Foods
- Write down what your favorite foods were as a child, a teenager, a
young adult, and now. Have they changed? For most people they do, which
tells us that taste buds can change over time and with choice. Think
about how you learned to like the taste of alcohol for example!

* Trigger Feelings
- write down several of your trigger feelings and state why you respond
to the food in that way. For example, "I eat after a stressful
situation because food calms me."

Remember, weight loss and maintaining a diet involves dealing with
triggers to stay aware and think before you eat. You can find the
freedom that comes from being in charge of yourself.
