PARIS - (LifeSiteNews.com) - The use of the contraceptive pill is plummeting among younger women, in response to growing awareness of its destructive health effects, reports a French bioethics site.
According to the site "Genetique," the use of "the pill" among women aged 15 to 24 years old dropped from 43% in 2003 to 26% in 2007. The rate of childbirth among the same group increased at the same time.
"The principal reason for this decrease is the attention paid by women to their health," says Genetique. "It is now proven that the pill suppresses libido and causes weight gain. The fear of cancer and sterility are equally responsible."
According to numerous studies on the effects of the contraceptive pill, its use is also linked to increased risk of heart disease, hypertension, and stroke.

{The article has been abridged for space limitations, Mr. Grant's complete piece is available from Rense at http://www.rense.com/general85/hatr.htm - Ed.}
All Americans should protest the "anti-hate" bills before Congress, HR 256 and 262, which threaten our freedom of speech. Pro-lifers are especially at risk of arrest and censorship for "hate speech." Incidents in Germany and Canada-as well as recent events in our own "free" nation-demonstrate the danger of hate crime laws to pro-lifers.
Last Thursday, nine college-age pro-lifers were <http://survivors.la/blog/index.php?id=89> arrested and jailed in Alabama on charges of "criminal trespass." They were giving out literature at a local high school, while standing on the public sidewalk! Police "handcuffed and arrested all nine [pro-lifers] without warning. One of the team members who did not assist in the distribution of literature was also arrested and handcuffed so tightly that it caused her to cry in pain police confiscated the team's video cameras and personal belongings, and impounded and searched the Campus Life Tour van. The police also asked the team members where they were staying so they could conduct a search in their hotel as well."
Pro-lifers fare even worse in other states. In Oakland, CA, pastor Walter Hoye <http://www.onenewsnow.com/Legal/Default.aspx?id=418990> faces up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine for carrying a sign, "Jesus Loves You. Can We Help?" outside an abortion clinic. He is charged with "harassment."
Police were sensitized to Hoye and other pro-lifers by California's 2004 "anti-hate" law SB 1234. Police in California now receive hate crime training called "multi-mission criminal extremism." A new category has been added: "anti-reproductive-rights crimes." Pro-lifers are automatically suspect.
<http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=54125> Janet Folger of Faith2Action writes, "If I lived in California, I have a feeling my picture would be found at the local post office. If you think killing children is wrong, they're training people against you, too."
Since pro-lifers are already persecuted under existing statutes, we can only imagine how the crackdown will intensify if federal "anti-hate" laws HR 256 and 262 are passed. Soon all American police will be trained to specifically target "hateful" pro-lifers, as they already do in California.
No Freedom for Canadian Pro-Lifers
Persecution of pro-lifers under existing statutes demonstrates the ferocity of public authorities to attack defenders of the unborn. As we have warned all along, the plight of our neighbors in Canada-where federal hate laws have already shattered free speech-will soon be ours if we don't stop these bills. In 1994, <http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Bill-Whatcott>Canadian pro-lifer Bill Whatcott spent 6 months in jail for praying on the public sidewalk outside an abortion clinic. In 2003, he was sentenced to 8 days in jail for displaying images of aborted fetuses. Police charged him with "criminal mischief" and "disturbing the peace." In 2004, he was fined $15,000 for protesting Planned Parenthood on a public sidewalk. His total legal debts to date in defense of these charges, and others stemming from criticism of homosexuality, total at least $250,000.
In Canada, as in Europe, the government, and university administrators, are now speech police. Toronto Sun columnist http://www.torontosun.com/comment/columnists/michael_coren/2009/02/14/8389976-sun.html Michael Coren writes of "pro-life clubs defunded and barred from meeting on college property in two universities in Ontario, pro-life stalls vandalized in Manitoba" The German Law Journal explains, "Although the dangers of hate speech are concededly abstract, they are nevertheless seen as being real enough to warrant management by the government, whose task in this area can be termed as control of the political climate [emphasis mine]." This is the clear intent of hate crime laws: ultimately to control whatever the government defines as "hate speech," thus "controlling the political climate"-and silencing objectors like those who fight for life. "Under the watchful eye of numerous media cameras, the university did not arrest the students. But two months later, the university instructed Calgary police to deliver summons to these same students -- privately at their homes, with no media present." <http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fullcomment/archive/2009/02/09/john-carpay-fr ee-speech-dies-a-slow-death-on-canadian-campuses.aspx>This quote comes from John Carpay, a lawyer for the students, published in the National Post. <http://calgary.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20090202/CGY_Trespass_ProLife_090202/20090203/?hub=CalgaryHome> These students have been charged with "trespassing" on their own campus, and will appear in court this Feb. 27.
Also this month, in Nova Scotia, pro-life presenters at St. Mary's University were commanded to disband. Protestors descended on the event, which was called "Echoes of the Holocaust," with "chants and yells," disrupting the main speaker less than a minute into his speech, yelling, "No hate speech in our school!""They continued to shout until [the speaker] was forced to type on the projected screen in order to get his message to the audience" Campus security did nothing, and then an <http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2009/feb/09020906.html>administrator told the pro-lifers to break up the meeting! Federal "anti-hate" laws were not even used in every case-official antagonism is so great that authorities used trumped-up charges of "harassment" and "trespassing" to persecute pro-lifers. Hate laws turn this antagonism into a clubbed fist because they empower the government to define the pro-life position itself-regardless of any action taken-as "hate."
That makes any pro-lifer vulnerable to prosecution the moment he or she takes a stand.

by Robert Poole, Reason Institute
Recently, Thomas Frank of the Wall Street Journal manages to get just about everything wrong in his column attacking public-private partnership toll roads.
First, he writes as if this phenomenon is solely about leasing existing tollways, such as the Indiana Toll Road, the Kansas Turnpike Authority, and the Chicago Skyway (all great political as well as economic successes, by the way), when by far the larger potential is in providing much-needed new capacity such as the $1.3 billion SH 130 toll road in Texas and the $1.4 billion HOT lanes being added to the gridlocked Capital Beltway outside Washington, DC.
Second, he assumes that today's credit market crunch means such projects will be "melting away," when $180 billion of equity capital has been assembled in infrastructure investment funds, and good projects continue to be financed, both here and overseas.
Third, he ignores the degree to which pork is "baked in" to the current federal highway and transit funding formulas, in contrast with the stringent return-on-investment filter through which public-private partnership toll projects must pass in order to get financed.
Fourth, he seems unaware that everyone involved appreciates that unlimited toll rates might divert too much traffic to non-tolled roads, which is why nearly all long-term lease agreements control either the toll rates or the allowable return on investment.
In short, Frank's piece is an ideological attack on what has become a mainstream, bipartisan practice not only in late-adopter America, but in most of Europe, Australia, Canada, Chile, Brazil, and more recently China and India. Now, public-private partnerships are being turned over to government only and we all know how efficient and economical that is!

{For the third time in less than a year, Planned Parenthood has been caught covering up the statutory rape, assault or molestation of underage girls by Lila Rose. In Kansas, Planned Parenthood faces some 109 criminal charges for its illegal abortion activities. Meanwhile, the corrupt Kansas Courts look for any means to dismiss criminal charges against abortion providers, whose money funds both the state's political machine and its economy. And the news media?...yawn... - Ed.}
by Live Action TUCSON, AZ, Feb. 3 – New hidden-camera footage from Tucson, AZ, implicates a third Planned Parenthood clinic in a multi-state child abuse scandal. In the video, UCLA student Lila Rose and her friend Jackie Stollar enter a Tucson Planned Parenthood clinic where Rose tells the nurse that Stollar, posing as a 15-year-old, is pregnant by her 27-year-old boyfriend. The nurse disregards the age difference and even cautions Stollar not to bring her "boyfriend" before the judicial hearing required in Arizona to waive parental consent for an abortion. This negligence is punishable under Arizona law.

by Governor Mitt Romney
These are extraordinary times, and like a lot of Republicans I believe that a well-crafted stimulus plan is needed to put people back to work. But the Obama spending bill would stimulate the government, not the economy.
We're on an economic tightrope. The package that passed the House is a huge increase in the amount of government borrowing. And we've borrowed so much already that if we add too much more debt, or spend foolishly, we could invite an even bigger crisis.
We could precipitate a worldwide crisis of confidence in America, leading to a run on the dollar or hyperinflation that wipes out family savings and devastates the middle class.
It's still early in the administration of President Obama. Like everyone who loves this country, I want him to adopt the correct course and then to succeed. He still has a chance to step in and insist on spending discipline among the members of his own party.
It's his job to set priorities. I hope for America's sake that he knows that a chief executive can't vote "present." He has to say yes to some things and no to a lot of others.
As someone who spent a career in the private sector, I'd like to see a stimulus package that respects the productivity and genius of the American people. And experience shows us what it should look like.
First, there are two ways you can put money into the economy, by spending more or by taxing less. But if it's stimulus you want, taxing less works best. That's why permanent tax cuts should be the centerpiece of the economic stimulus.
Second, any new spending must be strictly limited to projects that are essential. How do we define essential? Well, a good rule is that the projects we fund in a stimulus should be legitimate government priorities that would have been carried out in the future anyway, and are simply being moved up to create those jobs now.
As we take out nonessential projects, we should focus on funding the real needs of government that will have immediate impact. And what better place to begin than repairing and replacing military equipment that was damaged or destroyed in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan?
Third, sending out rebate checks to citizens and businesses is not a tax cut. The media bought this line so far, but they've got it wrong. Checks in the mail are refunds, not tax cuts. We tried rebate checks in 2008 and they did virtually nothing to jump-start the economy. Disposable income went up, but consumption hardly moved.
Businesses aren't stupid. They're not going to invest in equipment and new hires for a one-time, short-term blip. What's needed are permanent rate cuts on individuals and businesses.
Fourth, if we're going to tax less and spend more to get the economy moving, then we have to make another commitment as well. As soon as this economy recovers, we have to regain control over the federal budget, and above all, over entitlement spending for programs such as Social Security and Medicare. This is more important than most people are willing to admit.
There is a real danger that with trillions of additional borrowing -- from the budget deficit and from the stimulus -- world investors will begin to fear that our dollars won't be worth much in the future. It is essential that we demonstrate our commitment to maintaining the value of the dollar. That means showing the world that we will put a stop to runaway spending and borrowing.
Fifth, we must begin to recover from the enormous losses in the capital investment pool. And the surest, most obvious way to get that done is to send a clear signal that there will be no tax increases on investment and capital gains. The 2001 and 2003 tax cuts should be extended permanently, or at least temporarily.
And finally, let's exercise restraint in the size of the stimulus package. Last year, with the economy already faltering, I proposed a stimulus of $233 billion. The Washington Post said: "Romney's plan is way too big." So what critique will the media have for the size of the Obama package?
In the final analysis, we know that only the private sector -- entrepreneurs and businesses large and small -- can create the millions of jobs our country needs. The invisible hand of the market always moves faster and better than the heavy hand of government.

The radical transgender agenda is proceeding quickly into the schools, now reaching the youngest of children. What was completely unthinkable just a few years ago is now being forced as mainstream by public officials. And as usual, no one cares how this affects the fragile psychology of children. Pushing the political ideology as fast as possible takes precedence over everything. (Well, actually GLBT activists know that this will affect little children profoundly.)
At the beginning of this school year parents at the Clara Barton Elementary School in Oxford, MA received a mind-numbing letter from the principal and Superintendent.
Written simply in an eerie informational style, the parents were told that one of the male custodians will now be coming to school dressed as a woman, and is now considered a "woman", and that parents should inform their children of this because the school intended to tell them if they asked about it. "The best thing to tell them is that our custodian used to be a man. She has changed her gender role and is now a woman," the letter said to parents. It's extremely Orwellian.

Dear Clara Barton Families,
Welcome back to a new school year! I hope that you all had a safe, rest filled and refreshing summer. A lot of work has taken place over the summer to get the school ready for this year.
Although we do not usually make formal announcements about our employee's [sic] personal lives, a matter has come up that has the potential to impact the school environment. We believe that it is important to inform everyone openly. Our night custodian has informed us of his decision to change his gender and, as we begin the school year, he will begin living and working as a woman. He has been a valued employee of the Oxford Public schools for many hears, and we expect his exemplary performance to continue as he changes gender roles.
The custodial uniform is the same for men and women. However, our students may notice and ask about the differences in our custodian from last year to this. If they ask at school, they will be given a simple and straightforward answer. The best thing to tell them is that our custodian used to be a man. She has changed her gender role and is now a woman.
This can be a difficult topic about which to talk and likely a conversation that no one expected to have. Included with this letter are some resources that provide information about transgender issues that will be helpful should you choose to learn more.
Whether or not one agrees with or supports the decision of our custodian, it is important to note that the Oxford Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability. We expect our custodian to be treated with the same respect as every other employee. We teach respect by demonstrating respectful behavior.
If you have any questions or concerns that are not addressed by this letter or by the resources provided, please do not hesitate to contact either one of us.
Sincerely,
Ernest Boss Superintendent, Oxford Public Schools
Norman Yvon Principal, Clara Barton School
Notice that the school is taking upon themselves to describe this to children in the way they have chosen, whether parents like it or not.
Links to radical transgender websites
Also, on the back of the letter, the parents were given links to "helpful" resources about "transgender issues" to help them "learn more."
These "helpful" links are particularly distressing. They lead to some very radical homosexual / transgender sites. This is apparently what the elementary school principal and superintendent - the people teaching your young children - have studied and consider normal!
Here are the links included with the letter for parents, with quotes from their websites. NOTE the links that also describe CHILDREN changing their sex. That's next.
Center for Gender Sanity - "A refuge from male/female dichotomies, sex-based stereotypes, and other gender madness . . . "
TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation - "Dedicated to funding research and education about transgender issues to build a brighter future for all TransKids. Our children aren't pink or blue - but rather - various shades of purple."
International Foundation for Gender Education - "Transgender tapestry" [headquartered in Waltham, Mass.]
Gender.org - "Gender Education & Advocacy provides a large selection of freely downloadable materials that you can use in your local area to educate others on gender issues."
The World Professional Association for Transgender Health - " . . . to promote evidence based care, education, research, advocacy, public policy and respect in transgender health."
Also, listed as "References" in the letter
The Employer's Guide to Gender Transition
Working with a transsexual
This is where the homosexual movement is taking your children. It's like a science fiction movie. And they tend to back it up with legislation. The upcoming "Transgender rights and hate crimes bill", which we warned people about, would make descriptions like ours constitute a "hate crime" in Massachusetts.

It would on the surface that some of the states are beginning to try to slow up Federal encroachment, however the US is now only 2 states away from rewriting the Constitution. Ironically, the very mechanism that should allow the states to curb the abuses of the federal government may actually trigger unintended consequences. "Additions could include the non-existent separation of church and state, the 'right' to abortion and euthanasia, and much, much more.." claimed a spokesman for the American Policy Institute. Colorado is the latest state to make the 10th Amendment claim.
That the State of Colorado hereby claims sovereignty, under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, over all powers not otherwise delegated..
10th Amendment Resolution - TLP
The 10th amendment to the United States constitution guarantees to the states and their people all powers not granted to the federal government elsewhere in the constitution and reserves to the state and people of Montana certain powers as they were understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889. The guaranty of those powers is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.
The 9th amendment to the United States constitution guarantees to the people rights not granted in the constitution and reserves to the people of Montana certain rights as they were understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889. The guaranty of those rights is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889. Once convened a Constitutional Convention could be taken in an entrely different direction in which "today's corrupt politicians and judges" could formally change the U.S. Constitution's "'problematic' provisions to reflect the philosophical and social mores of our contemporary society."
"Don't doubt that delegates wouldn't revise the First Amendment into a government-controlled privilege, replace the 2nd Amendment with a 'collective' right to self-defense, and abolish the 4th, 5th, and 10th Amendments, and the rest of the Bill of Rights," said the warning from the American Policy Institute.

WASHINGTON/Christian Newswire Fox News reported that BHO signed the Executive Order reversing the Mexico City Policy on Jan. 23rd.
"Barack Obama begins his presidency by increasing the number of abortions worldwide with his order to fund abortion groups. The U.S. spends over $450 million each year on international family planning. Obama's order would funnel money away from legitimate health organizations to political allies that promote or commit abortions, in some cases in countries where abortion is illegal," said Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America (CWA).
Dr. Jean Kagia, a doctor from Kenya, testified last year in Congress that:
- Contrary to abortion proponents' claims, the Mexico City Policy does not adversely affect the health of women because 60 percent of family planning services are provided by the government, 30 percent by faith-based health facilities, and 10 percent by private groups. The effect of any abortion-related clinics' closing is negligible.
- In 2007, 85 percent of people in Kenya -- including women -- opposed abortion.
- Abortion is not safe, even in the hands of professionals.
Dr. Kagia said, "The promotion of and effort to legalize abortion in Africa is a foreign agenda and a form of recolonization. ... I have to ask why Congress wants to fund organizations that work against the will of the majority of the people of democratic countries."
Wendy Wright stated, "By overturning this policy, Obama steers tax dollars to political allies, offends the morality of millions of Americans, funds abortion efforts in countries where abortion is illegal, and breaks a campaign promise to reduce abortions."
President Obama's anticipated order reverses the Mexico City Policy. It was initiated by President Reagan to prohibit federal funds from going to foreign nongovernmental organizations that commit or promote abortion. Revoked by President Clinton, Congress voted repeatedly to apply this limitation legislatively during his term. President Bush restored the Mexico City Policy as one of his first presidential acts.

TOPEKA – The Kansas chapter of the free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity today urged Kansans to sign an online petition to oppose the trillion-dollar stimulus package put forth by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Obama Administration.
"This so-called stimulus package would not only be harmful to the long-term economic health of the country," said AFP-Kansas state director Derrick Sontag. "but it could also become a dangerous temptation for Kansas lawmakers by allowing them to avoid making some of the budget reductions necessary to truly balance our state's budget."
Kansas faces a shortfall of at least $180 million for the fiscal year that ends on June 30th, and that budget gap will grow to over $1 billion for FY2010. Sontag said state legislators and elected officials must address our fiscal situation by making tough decisions on where to trim the budget, and by eliminating wasteful government spending.
Sontag urged Kansans to visit www.nostimulus.com and sign AFP's national "No Stimulus" petition, which tells President Obama that expanding government and growing debt are not productive reactions to the nation's economic troubles. By visiting the website, online activists can also learn facts about the Congressional spending proposal, contact their legislators, and write to local media. More than 2,000 citizens have already signed since the petition's launch last week.
"We have experimented with large-scale expansions of government in the past, and each one coincided with economic failure," said AFP president Tim Phillips. "We cannot simply tax, borrow and spend our way to prosperity."
Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is the nation's premier grassroots organization committed to advancing every individual's right to economic freedom and opportunity. AFP believes reducing the size and scope of government is the best safeguard to ensuring individual productivity and prosperity for all Americans. AFP educates and engages citizens in support of restraining state and federal government growth, and returning government to its constitutional limits. Currie Myers
Earlier this month Fort Dodge Animal Health announced its plan to postpone “indefinitely” its corporate headquarters move to the Kansas Bioscience Park in Olathe.
Did you miss that little tidbit in the mainstream media?Kelly Goss, a Fort Dodge spokeswoman, said Monday in an e-mail that the economic environment had changed “dramatically” since the company announced the project more than a year ago, which contributed to the delay. Goss said the company had not yet determined a future timeline for the $40 million project.
Fort Dodge, a division of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, announced it would move its Overland Park headquarters to Olathe in November 2007. The project included constructing a 150,000 square-foot facility, staffed by 200 employees on 30 acres donated by the Kansas Bioscience Authority.
Another company, XenoTech, LLC, backed away from a deal to locate at the park about six months after saying it would. The in-vitro research firm had said it would invest nearly $10 million to build a 54,000 square-foot facility that would triple the size of its existing Lenexa location. But the deal was put on the back burner when it engaged in talks to be acquired by another company.
Did you miss that little tidbit in the mainstream media?
When it was first announced, officials said they expected the park to generate $150 million in public and private investment and create 3,000 jobs during the next 20 to 30 years. Prior to the fall election, Kansas City Business Journal reporter, Michael Braude, penned the following:
“Area residents will reap huge benefits from “The Triangle.” These include new jobs, new businesses in animal health and pharmaceuticals, and a marked improvement in the quality of life in the region. It is estimated that The Triangle will mean more than a billion dollars in economic impact during the next two decades. The biggest benefit will be that a safer, smarter, healthier metropolitan area will evolve.”
Politicians in Johnson County hailed the tax passage as the greatest single event in Johnson County business history and that a wealth of businesses will flock to our county to reap the bounty. Conservatives, like me, who were against the tax, were hissed and booed like Dudley Doright nemesis, Snidely Whiplash, as he tied up Neil Fenwick at the railroad tracks. But the tax passed and Johnson County self-appointed leaders, like Sun Publisher, Steve Rose, looked down upon us and grinned from his perch like the Grinch awaiting the plunder to be in Whoville.
The reality is that tax-funded financing of business projects results in the business having no vested interest or commitment to the project. Why is this? Because they have not invested their own money into the equation! Now that the economy is bad we can really see the fruits of our miss-labor.
Tax-funded projects across the Kansas City area and in Johnson County in particular, are seeing this lack of commitment. Will the businesses come back? I hope so someday. I don’t revel in the waste of taxpayers hard earned money. The old adage holds true however. If it is a good business investment then the business and business investors will fund the project.
But then again why should businesses buy the milk when you can get it for free? Or at least at the taxpayer’s expense, which is the same as free to “Tax and Spend” politicians.
In the meantime, I will be patiently waiting for my Triangle Tax refund, but I’m not sure whom to contact to ask about it. It is the County Commissioners who passed the buck and have no authority?
Or, do I contact the unelected Bio-Science Commission that doesn’t have to listen to my complaints?
