Cactus Charm

I am looking around for a silver charm for Britney as her Christmas gift.

As I was clicking around, I found this gold one.

Er... I don't think Britney appreciates gold jewelry as much as silver jewelry and this is out of my budget but I still want to make a note and post of it as I found it interesting.

I may even get it for myself or somebody else when my budget permits.

It is a small 14K gold Saguaro Cactus charm.

Saguaro cactus provide habitat for several animals.

Certain birds also produce nest holes in saguaros. Occasionally,
the major branches of saguaros can have large twig-nests of hawks.

This will be a very cool charm to have dangling around my wrist but I don't own a gold charm bracelet yet.

Handcrafted Fish Charms in Sterling Silver

How about one of these handcrafted fish charms in sterling silver as a Christmas gift for Hanna?

Hanna has been wearing a number of jewelry with fish symbols or fish related designs. I don't why she has this sudden fascination with fish jewelry? But it gives me an obvious theme to look as far as gifts go.

In past years, getting Hanna a Christmas gift has been a hit or miss affair. I had never had a clear clue as what she may like.

Looks like things are going to change this year.

Hanna has bought a silver charm bracelet and I have observed that she has been changing the charms on that bracelet.

The one with the angel fish filigree should suit her best among all those handcrafted sterling silver fish charms.

Ethnic Looking Silver Earrings

Was browsing around and interestingly found this page with a pair of earrings that look so much like a pair I bought from a flea mart.

The one I bought was handcrafted as well.

The ones on this page are described as Native American Silver Earrings. That was what appealed to me. The tribal, ethnic look.

The one on this page is crafted by a Hopi silversmith that features a stylized nautilus pattern.

I wondered how a local jewelry craftsman from where I come from got his inspiration to design something like that.

Silver Ring with Purple Diamonds

It's not December yet and I've already started shopping for Christmas gifts!

I get very excited with Christmas shopping and it seems I begin my shopping spree earlier each year.

Why do I do it?

I think it's because this being such a terrific experience, I want to enjoy and extend it longer and longer.

In fact, I have just ordered this for Katie.

It is a gemstones Victorian style ring. High
quality brilliant diamonds made by brilliant cut are embedded and inlaid by hand, no adhesive. It is a silver ring with 14k white gold plating.

What made me decide this to be the Christmas gift for Katie is that it is size 7, exactly her finger size and it is in purple, Katie's favourite colour.

Handmade Toerings

What's this? Handmade toerings?

I am rather surprised to come across this webpage. I had no idea that people make toe rings by hand.

So far, the toerings I bought from shops or online stores are the manufactured, usually silver variety.

Generally, I find that handmade kind of jewelry are more unusual and special. That's definitely the case with these handmade toe rings.

The toe ring bands are colored. There are even black ones!

The toe rings are designed according to color themes. This is certainly very interesting.

I'll certainly like to see how they'll look on my toe.

I wonder if I will come across more examples of handmade toerings?

Ruby Fell Off From Pendant

I have a natural round ruby sterling silver slide pendant like this one.

Well, maybe not exactly like this one, the shape is a little different. I like to have a mix of simple pendants in my jewelry collection.

I don't know how it happened but the ruby fell out of its cavity and the inner part of the stone is chipped.

My sis suggested that I glue it back but I suspect it is not that simple. there seems to be something that is supposed to hold the ruby in its place and that is a mark as if something has broken off.

Besides, if the glue work is not very good, I may leave ugly marks or the stone may fall off again and I may not be second time lucky to recover the stone.

I'll ask around the jewelry shops to see what they can do. Or I'll just have to buy another one, maybe from this website.

Invisible Line Toe Ring

Sassy was the one who introduced me to wearing toe rings.

I think they are really cute and put one on now and then when I am wearing open toe footwear.

I have just purchased one of these invisible line crystal flip flop toe ring.

It is really cute when I wear it with flip flops. What you have is wearing a flip flop on flip flops. Hilarious.

The invisible line has sagged a little. I will have to find a way to tighten it a little or one of these days it is going to come loose and go missing.

I may get one of these for Sassy too.

Green Kid Ring for Anna

I am thinking of getting a green kid ring for Anna this Christmas.

Anna is my neighbour from 3 doors away. She's about 9 years old, I think.

Anna is the cutest little girl I have ever known. She greets me with her bright, sunshine smile every time. The sight of her big beautiful eyes and dimples cheer me up without fail.

One thing I have noticed about Anna is that she likes to wear green, even her shoes and bags are green. I wonder if that is a little unusual for little girls.

Anyway, since she likes green, I will like to give her a Christmas gift in green and it will be great if I can find a similar green ring for kids.

Rabbit Earrings for Jenny

Jenny loves rabbits and keeps a few in her house for more than ten years.

She shows her love of rabbits very openly and you can find rabbit stuff all around her; rabbits on her screen saver, rabbits on her t-shirts, bags, wallets, socks...

I wonder how it has not become tiresome yet? Everybody gives Jenny gifts that feature rabbits in one way or another. We kept doing it and Jenny never gets tired of it. She is genuinely happy to receive rabbit themed gifts.

I am looking for Christmas gifts for Jenny and I too am looking to rabbits for ideas.

One candidate is this Outline Rabbit Head & Star Dangle Earrings. This is actually from the playboy store so I am a little concerned as whether Jenny will mind. The only thing that gives it away is the bow tie.

I've got to check with others if anyone has given Jenny gifts with a playboy motif and if Jenny minded.

New Blog

Candice introduced me to blogging and she likes to set my new blogs here and there.

She says she has moved on from blogging about daily events to topic specific blogs. Candice always has a way of influencing me and I am again taking her lead.

I'll like to try this idea of topic specific blogs and asked her to recommend a blog site and here I am. Things work a little differently from my old blog so I'll take a while to see how I like this new way to go about things.
